Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the miniaturization and a reduction of power consumption for a constant voltage power supply device, by connecting a light emitting diode and a Zener diode in series and then connecting these diodes to a dropper resistance in the form of a constant voltage element. CONSTITUTION:An astable constant power supply is connected to a series circuit of a Zener diode DZ2 and light emitting diodes LED4-LED6 via a dropper resistance R5. A load RL2 is connected between both ends of the DZ2 and the LED4. Both the Zener voltage and the forward voltage of the LED have substantially no change although the current has a slight change. Thus a certain level of voltage is always supplied to the load. As a result, the current flowing to the resistance R5 is reduced with a reduction of the power loss. Such stabilized power supply is used to a circuit using a number of glowing type light emitting diodes at all times. The miniaturization is possible with a reduction of the number of component parts and the saving of energy.
