Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture iron sand sintered ore contg. much iron sand and not inferior to ordinary sintered ore at all in quality level by blending lime and serpentine, dolomite or the like as slag making materials when starting materials for iron sand sintered ore are blended.
CONSTITUTION: When starting materials for manufacturing iron sand sintered ore contg. 50W80% iron sand are blended, a slag making material such as limestone or quick lime is blended so as to adjust the basicity (CaO/SiO) of the ore to ≥1.2, and a slag making material such as serpentine, dolomite or Ni slag as an MgO source is further added so as to adjust the MgO content of the ore to 3W6%. Thus, slag of magnesioferrite and slag of calcium ferrite are formed by the reaction of magnetite in iron sand with MgO and CaO, respectively. As a result, the resulting iron sand sintered ore has remarkably enhanced sintering reactivity, cold strength and reduction powdering resistance.
