Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a load of piezoelectric-vibrator regardless of faster speed of an ink drop by giving a certain electric charge to the ink injected from a nozzle, and equipping a device to accelerate the charged ink. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus is incorporating a nozzle 21 filled with a conductive ink, an ink chamber 22, a piezoelectric vibrator 24 as an electroacoustic transducer, an electric charged electrode 26, and an accelerating electrode 27. An electric signal is applied to the vibrator 24 with an electric signal source 25 to deform the vibrator 24, increasing the ink pressure within the chamber 22, and injecting the ink drop 31. When a certain voltage is applied across the ink liquid and the electrode 26 by means of a power source 28, this allows the ink drop 31 to have a certain electric charge. Said charged ink drop is accelerated by an electric field defined across the electrode 27 and the electrode 26 with the power source 29 for writing in a recording media 32. The speed of the ink drop may be faster with an acceleration electric field, requiring not to have a fast initial speed, and reducing the power source supplied to the vibrator 24.
