Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title product capable of heightening the deflection precision by correcting the flying speed of the ink jet, by the mechanism wherein by utilizing the ink drops jetted out from nozzles not in use, flying speed of ink jet is detected continuously and the pressure applied upon the printing ink is controlled thereby. CONSTITUTION:Nozzles 4 which are not in use for printing are installed at the foremost surface, ink drops being jetted out from them are charged electrically by the signals generated from the test signal generator 8, and their flying speed is detected by the ink drop speed detector 9. When the detected speed is larger than the preset value, ink drop deflection amount made by the deflection electrode 6 is lessened. In this case, electric voltage applied by the charge terminal 5 is made higher than the preset charger level, and when the detected speed is smaller, lower voltage is applied accordingly.
