Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned device which is capable of detecting the degree of deflection of ink particles and correcting the deflection tracks thereof by arranging two plate-shaped charge detecting electrodes adjacently to the prescribed deflection tracks of the charged ink particles. CONSTITUTION:Pressurized ink is jetted from the ink jetting port 14am of an ink jet head 10, the ink particles of jetted ink are charged by a charging electrode 20am, deflected by the deflecting electrodes 60am1 and 60am2 and struck at recording paper, whereby recording is performed. On the occasion, two plate-shaped charge detecting electrodes 40am are arranged in such a manner that one end thereof is positioned adjacent to the prescribed deflection tracks of the charged ink particles, while an integrating circuit 240 is connected to these electrodes 40am. The divergence of the charged ink particles from the prescribed tracks is detected and according to the degree thereof a charge voltage level, an ink pressure level or a deflection voltage level is adjusted, whereby the tracks are corrected.
