Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform stable adjustment of the amount of deflection by stretching a metal wire of minute diameter connected to an integration circuit in the flying route of charged ink particles in an ink-jet recording device and thereby detecting the position of deflection of ink particles and the amount of charge thereof. CONSTITUTION:In the ink-jet recording device composed of an ink tank 1, an ink- jetting nozzle 5, a charging electrode 7, deflection electrodes 91 and 92, etc., ink- particle detecting devices (23-26) are provided in the flying route of charged ink particles deflected by the deflection electrodes 91 and 92. The detecting device comprises a ceramic block 23 fixed to a metal gutter 26, the metal wire 24 of minute diameter retained by the ceramic block 23, etc., while the metal wire 24 is connected to the integration circuit 27. And, by using the analog voltage of the integration circuit 27 generated by collision of the charged ink particle with a detection electrode 24, the charged ink particle is detected exactly and the control of the amount of deflection of the ink particle is performed by a control circuit 28.
