Abstract
PURPOSE:To accelerate the deflection of printing charged drops, prevent the amalgamation of ink drops to increase the printing accuracy by coating a part or entire part of at least one of deflecting electrodes with an insulating material and providing the same in the vicinity of a charge electrode. CONSTITUTION:A deflecting electrode 4 is coated with an insulatng material 8, and deflecting electrodes 4 and 4' are provided in the vicinity of a charge electrode 3 to accelerate the deflection of injected printing charged drops. By rendering the deflecting electrode 4 into a minus high potential and the deflecting electrode 4' into a ground potential, an acclerating force is given to the printing charged drops and a decelerating force to the noncharged drops thereby to prevent the amalgamation of the drops. Since the insulating material exists between the deflecting electrode 4 and the charge electrode 3, there occurs no discharge even when both electrodes are provided closely to each other.
