Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the cost by regenerating and recovering casting sand at high thermal efficiency in a compact apparatus, by putting the used casting sand into a roasting furnace capable of performing preliminary roasting and fluid reasting to roast preliminarily at 400°C and then leading to the roasting zone to apply fluid roasting.
CONSTITUTION: Used casting and supplied from a hopper 1 is guided into a conical guide sheet group 2 to gradually fall down a preliminary roasting zone 3 so as to be preliminarily roasted to more than 400°C by fluid gas of more than 800°C in this process, then it drops into a fluid layer 5 to be subjected to fluid roasting, and, after completely burning the organic matter, is discharged from a discharge port 7 by means of the timer. The fuel is burnt at 800°C by a burner 6, and the air for fluid is heated by a heat exchange tube 8, and is blown into a fluid roasting zone 4 at 550W600°C through a hot draft zone 9 and a porous refractory furnace bottom board 10. Even if the binder of the casting sand is inorganic, the casting sand may be released and granulated in one minute of fluid roasting and discharged from an exhaust port 11, thereby regenerating the used sand.
