Abstract
PURPOSE: To fuse the residuum being sent and reduce it in quantity by a method wherein a heating device is fitted in front of a rotary kiln in order to heat combustion gas introduced into the rotary kiln at a high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The refuse a thrown from a refuse throwing hopper 4 is sent from a drying grate 6 to a burning grill 7 by turns by the operation of a supplying feeder 5 and burnt up in a combustion chamber 2. The burnt residuum a' of the refuse is introduced into a rotary kilm 10 and transferred to the side of a residuum discharge hole 11 gradually by the rotation of the kiln 10. The combustion gas from the refuse heated by a heating device 12 at a high temperature of about 1200°C is introduced in the rotary kiln 10 and the burnt residuum a' is fused by the convection, the irradiative heat transfer of the combustion gas in the rotary kiln 10 and taken out of the outlet 11 as the fused residuum which is reduced in quantity.
