Abstract

PURPOSE:To incinerate high water content sludge efficiently without using multi- stage incineration method by drying a waste on a horizontal circular hearth formed above a fluidized bed and then supplying the waste into the combustion chamber of the fluidized bed. CONSTITUTION:When waste is supplied by a screw feeder 11 into a chamber 4 which is preheated by flame from a burner 7 made in a furnace wall 5 and in which a rotating shaft 14 is rotating, the waste is agitated by rotating blades 15 while exposed to high temperatures in the chamber 4 and begins to dry. The blades 15 move the dried waste successively towards the center of a hearth 12, and the waste is pelletized near a center opening 13. This pelletized waste is dropped from the opening 13 into the combustion chamber 19 of a fluidized bed, is supplied with air blown from nozzles 22 and burned via fluidized medium wherein heat is accumulated. Ash generated by said combustion is discharged outside by an ash take-out conveyer 21.
