Abstract
PURPOSE: To save the fuel to a great extent, by utilizing gas produced in a sludge digesting tank of a sewage disposal plant as combusting supporting agent in the melting furnace, driving an O2-generator by electric power generated in the plant, and feeding O2 generated in the O2-generator to the melting furnace.
CONSTITUTION: In incinerating and melting the refuse, it is at first put into the melting furnace 3 from an inlet hopper 1. In the furnace 3, the refuse is dried, decomposed and gasified by heat while it is carried downward in the furnace 3. Uncombusted substances, ash, etc. are molten at the bottom of furnace 3 and dropped into a water tank 5 from a runner 4. On the other hand, decomposed gas is combusted in a combustion chamber 10 and discharged from a smokestack 14 into the atmosphere via a waste heat boiler 11 and an electric dust collector 12. In the meanwhile, the sludge from a sludge concentrater 18 and a heating means 20 is supplied to a sludge digesting tank 21 in a sewage disposal plant, and gas produced in the tank 21 is carried via a tank 24 and a blower 25 to the melting furnace 3 and the combustion chamber 10 for combustion therein. Further, the O2-generator 30 is driven by a part of electric power generated by a generator 29, and O2 thus generated is supplied to melting furnace 3.
