Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the heat retained by high temp. incineration ashes effectively for drying sludge by supplying the dried cake of suldge dried in a mixing dryer to an incineration furnace then introducing the high temp. incineration ashes from the incineration furnace to said mixing dryer.
CONSTITUTION: Wet sludge S is supplied to a mixing dryer 1, and the dry cake dried thereby is supplied through a supplying passage 2 to a fluidized bed type incineration furnace 4 having grates 3, where it is incinerated by auxiliary fuel F and air A2 for combustion. The waste hot ashes from the furnace 4 conducted via a discharge passage 5 to a cyclone 6, and the captured high temp. incineration ashes are introduced via a distributor 7 and a lead-in passage 8 into the dryer 1. The high temp. incineration ashes conducted to the dryer 1 are mixed with the wet sludge S. Receiving the heat retained by the high temp. incineration ashes, the wet sludge S evaporates moisture to form dry cake, which is supplied into the furnace 4.
