Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for drying water containing waste matter and incinerating the same in a fluidized furnace, which is designed to dry the water containing waste matter by use of a medium such as exhaust gas and steam capable of transmitting heat produced in the furnace and to keep the temperature in an incinerator at a required value.
CONSTITUTION: Dehydrated cakes 1 are put into a drier 2, while high-temperature exhaust gas produced in a fluidized bed 8 is also introduced into the drier 2 via exhaust-gas ducts 3, 3a for drying the dehydrated cakes 1 through direct heat exchanging with the same. After exchanging heat, exhaust gas is discharged to the outside via an exhaust-gas treating means 4. Dried cakes 5 are carried shbsequently into a fluidized furnace 8, in which they are incinerated while being mixed with a fluidizing medium in the fluidized bed 7 and agitated thereby. In the fluidized bed 7, there are disposed heat transfer pipes 6 for heating water W supplied by a feed water pump 10. Steam S thus produced is discharged to the outside of the system via a steam separator 12. Here, the temperature in the fluidized bed is controlled substantially at a required value by controlling a damper 22 and a feed water valve 24 by means of a control box 21.
