Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce energy consumption in the incineration wherein a fluidized layer incinerator incinerates the ludge already dried by a sludge dryer into dehydrated cake by an arrangement wherein a cooling pipe is inserted into a sand layer of the incinerator to absorb extra heat amount in the form of steam for reuse. CONSTITUTION:In the operation, the dehydrated cake 7 is dried in the sludge drier 8 of incirect type until the water containing ratio becomes amount 30%. The dried sludge, in powder and particle form, is thrown into the fluidized layer incinerator 2 by means of a thrower 17. In the case of natural sludge, the atmost temperature occurs in the sand layer part, and therefore, the cooling pipe 18 is disposed in the same layer. The cooling pipe 18 is supplied through a branch passage with a part of water 20 to be fed to a waste heat boiler 19. The steam obtained in the cooling pipe joins with the steam 11 obtained at the waste heat boiler 19 and then enters into the dryer 8. In this instance, the amount of combustion air to be fed into the incinerator 2 is controlled to be within a range of incinerator air ratio 1.2-2.0 so that the temperature can be maintained at 700- 950 deg.C.
