Abstract

PURPOSE: To save waste treating energy and to reduce the vol. of incineration ashes by subjecting part of waste to dehydration and drying; incinerating another part of waste in an incinerator; converting the dry waste and the incineration ashes into slag in a melting furnace; and utilizing exhaust gases from the incinerator and the furnace as a heat source for air for drying.
CONSTITUTION: Waste A such as sludge from waste water treatment is dehydrated with dehydrator 1 and dried with dryer 2. Waste B such as municipal garbage is incinerated in incinerator 3, and incineration ashes (b) are converted into slag (c) in melting furnace 4 together with dry waste (a). Slag (c) is used as roadbed base material, etc. Exhaust gas (d) from incinerator 3 and exhaust gas (c) from furnace 4 are fed to waste heat boiler 5, where the gases are mixed and deodorized, and steam (f) is generated. Steam (f) is supplied to heat exchanger 6 and used as a heat source for drying air (g) for dryer 2.
