Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively use a combustion heat of asphalt and to produce high quality asphalt-plied timber, by burning waste material to recover aggregate and using the heat of the combustion exhaust gas for heating and drying new aggregate and preheating the waste material.
CONSTITUTION: Waste asphalt material is burnt in a rotary combustion furnace 2, and aggregate in the waste material is recovered. Exhaust gas generated by the combustion is introduced into a tilting rotary cylindrical heating oven 3 arranged substantially in combination with the combustion furnace 2. In the oven 3, the exhaust gas heats and dries new aggregate charged through the aggregate inlet 3c of a cylindrical part 3a. The exhaust gas is further carried through a cyclone 4, a bag filter 5 and an air blower 6, and used as a heat source for preheating the waste material. The preheated waste material is crushed by a crusher 8 and then charged into the rotary combustion furnace 2. Consequently, the combustion heat of asphalt can be used effectively, and high quality asphalt-plied timber can be produced.
