Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably remove phosphates in a soln. over a long term by contacting a calcium agent-added soln. to be treated to phosphate mineral granules while mixing and agitating to prevent the granules from growing large and to make granule exchange operation unnecessary.
CONSTITUTION: Phosphate ion-contg. soln. A to be treated and calcium agent B are supplied into vessel 1 (mixing and agitating part), vigorously agitated with rotary agitating vane 4, and simultaneously contacted to calcium phosphate-contg. phosphate mineral granules C in vessel 1 to convert the phosphate ion into insol. calcium phosphate precipitates. The suspension in vessel 1 is then fed to granule separating part 2, where granules C are separation-recovered and returned to vessel 1. The effluent from part 2 is introduced into solid-liquid separation part 3 to remove SS contg. calcium phosphate precipitates, and it is drained from the system as clean treated water A'.
