Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove fluoride ions efficiently by allowing supernatant water, obtained through solid-liquid separation after adding a water soluble calcium compound to water containing fluoride ions, to contact with crystal seeds containing calcium phosphate in the presence of phosphate ions.
CONSTITUTION: In the 1st reaction tank 1, feed water 6 containing fluoride ions, acidic solution 7 of fluoroapatite crystal, water soluble calcium hydroxide 8, and pH modifier 9 are reacted with one another, and after flocculant 10 is added CaF2 deposit 11 is removed in the 1st deposit ion tank. To supernatant water 12 of fluoride ion concentration less than the solubility of CaF2, phosphate ions 13 and crystal seeds 14 containing calcium phosphate are added and in the 2nd reaction tank 3, crystallization is carried out. Then, fluoroapatite crystallizes in the reaction solution and fluoride ions in the solution are removed. In the 2nd deposition tank 4, solid- liquid separation is made and the supernatant water is discharged as treated water 17; and some of deposited crystal seeds 18 are used as crystal seeds to be added and the other is dissolved in acid 19 in dissolution tank 5 for the 1st reaction.
