Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve initial electrostatic characteristics and also improve repetitive fatigue characteristics by laminating a charge generating layer composed primarily of a P type semiconductor and a charge-transfer layer containing electron donative material and tetramethy1 benzene.
CONSTITUTION: A P type semiconductor such as the dis-azo pigment of the formula I is dispersed in a solution of a resin binder. This dispersed liquid is coated and dried on a conductive substrate, whereby the charge generating layer containing about 30 to 90wt% of the P type semiconductor is formed to a thickness about 5μ or under. On this is coated and dried a solution composed primarily of the electron donative material such as the compound of the formula II, preferably about 5 to 30wt% of tetramethyl benzene such as durene and resin binder, whereby the charge- transfer layer containing 30 to 70wt% of the electron donative material is formed to thicknesses about 10 to 50μ and the laminate type electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained.
