Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the electrophotographic photoreceptor of high sensitivity and high flexibility by providing the photosensitive layer composed of the specific trisazo pigments as its effective components on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The trisazo pigments expressed by general formula I [A is formula II, formula III, formula IV (X, Ar1 is aromatic rings, hetero rings and their substituents; R1, R3 are H, lower alkyl, phenyl; R2 is lower alkyl, carboxyl, their esters)], such as, e.g., formula V, are used. The solution containing a binder and the abovementioned trisazo pigments of particle size 5μ or less is coated on a conductive substrate then dried, whereby the photosensitive layer of thicknesses about 3W50μ (preferably 5W20μ) is provided to form the photoreceptor.
