Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity to visible light, by dispersing one or more kinds of pigments selected from anthanthrone pigment, dibenzopyrenequinone pigment, and violanthrone pigment into a polycarbonate resin to form a carrier generating layer.
CONSTITUTION: Carrier generating layer 2 and carrier transfer layer 3 are formed on conductive substrate 1 to form a photoreceptor. One or more kinds selected from 3 kinds of pigments represented by formula I, II, and III (X is halogen, nitro. cyano, acyl, or carboxy: n is 0W4; and m is 0W6) are dispersed into a solution of polycarbonate resin to form a coating fluid, and this fluid is coated on substrate 1 to form carrier generating layer 2, and this layer is coated with a fluid made by dispersing into a solution of polycarbonate resin a compound represented by formula IV (R1WR4 are H, optionally substituted alkyl, or the like; R5 and R6 are H, optionally substituted 1W40C alkyl, or the like; and R7WR10 are H, halogen, OH, or the like) to form carrier transfer layer 3. Since the vapor deposition method is not used, a superior photoreceptor is obtained at low cost.
