Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an electrophotographic photoreceptor superior in sensitivity, by forming a photosensitive layer using a specified photoconductor as a charge transfer substance in combination with a charge carrier generating pigment.
CONSTITUTION: Specified photoconductors used as a charge transfer substance are represented by 6 general formula including formula I in which R1 is 1W7 C alkyl; R2 and R3 are lower alkyl, nitro, or halogen; and m and n are 1 or 2, but at least one of them is 2, formula II in which R4 is H, lower alkyl, chlorine, bromine, nitro, or alcoxy, and formula III in which R5 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or halogen. A charge carrier generating pigment (a), such as an azo dye having a particle diameter below about 5 μ and a carbazole skeleton, or selen, by about 1W50 wt. %, 1 or more kinds of the above charge transfer substances (b) by about 10W60 wt. %, a binder resin (c) and the like are mixed in a solvent like tetrahydrofuran to prepare a coating fluid, and this fluid is coated on a conductive substrate to form a photosensitive layer. A preferable film thickness is 3W 100 μ.
