Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic photosensitive element having high flexibility and causing no deterioration in photosensitive characteristics etc. during working and using, by using a photoconductive composition containing a high molecular organic photoconductor containing polycyclic aromatic or heterocyclic aromatic ring and styrene-butadiene copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: Photoconductive paint is prepared which contains a high molecular organic photoconductor containing either a polycyclic aromatic ring such as polyvinyl naphthalene etc. or a heterocyclic aromatic ring such as poly-N-vinyl carbazole etc., and containing styrene-butadiene copolymer and to which sensitizer etc. is added if necessary. The coating material is applied on a conductive supporting material and is dried to form a photoconductive layer. By this way, a photoreceptor which has large adhesive strength to the supporting material, without generation of peeling etc., and has large film strength, flexibility and good photosensitivity, is obtained.
