Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the electrophotographic plate of superior durability, repetitive characteristics and surface smoothness by using squalic acid methine pigment as charge generating material and the specific compound as charge carrier material.
CONSTITUTION: The layers of about 100μ or under composed of the charge carrier material (a) composed of the compound shown by formula I (X is heterocyclic groups shown by formulas II, III, IV; Y is O, S, -CH2-, -CH=CH-; n is 0, 1, 2) 1pt.wt. and charge genarating material (b) composed of squalic acid methine pigment about 1pt.wt. or under (preferably 0.2pt.wt. or under) are formed on a substrate such as of Al plate, whereby the composite type electrophotographic plate is formed. Here, it is desirable that the charge carrier material be used as the composition compound with anout 0.5W10pts.wt. of binder resins such as acrylic resin, butyral resin, etc. to 1pt.wt. thereof. The charge genarating material and charge carrier material may be used either as mixed systems or laminated systems as separate layers.
