Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform sure sealing without deteriorating quality by using low melting point alloy for sealing a pair of substrates which hold electrochemical coloring material and electrolyte therebetween.
CONSTITUTION: The solder (Pb-Sn alloy) 10 having been formed in frame form is disposed, in opposition to gold paste 6, between the display electrode substrate 7 comprising covering transparent electrodes on a glass substrare 1, forming display electrodes 2 of desired shapes through etching, then covering an insulation layer 3 on lead parts, coating glass paste 5 on the sealing part and evaporating a tungsten oxide film 4 and the counter electrode substrate 9 comprising forming and coating a counter electrode 8, glass paste 5, gold paste 6 on a glass substrate 1, and is then melted at an atmosphere temperature of 200°C to be bonded to the gold paste 6. Thereby, the sure sealing is accomplished without deteriorating the tungsten oxide film 4.
