Abstract

PURPOSE:To make multi-printing unnecessary, shorten the process, and prevent the erroneous discharge, by forming a dielectric spacer which contains a specified amount of lead with a low-temperature melting glass and a metal oxide. CONSTITUTION:After a glass film 3 is formed on a glass substrate 1, a dielectric layer 4 is formed in such a way that a dielectric paste whose main component is the low-temperature melting glass mixed with Al2O3 powder is printed, then burned to form a band-type pattern which intersects an electrode 2 at a right angle. On the other hand, on a glass substrate 5, a band-type electrode 6 is printed using a silver paste, then burned to form a band-type pattern where a glass film 7 and a dielectric layer 8 cross with electrode 6 at a right angle. Thus formed glass substrates 1 and 5 are arranged to face electrodes 3 and 6 so that a 90 deg. angle is formed with respect to each other in order to constitute a discharge cell 9, into which neon gas is charged in order to constitute a display panel. Consequently, the erroneous discharge caused by an electric field leakage can be prevented.
