Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 リムーバブルメディアやハードディスクに保
管されている写真画像データを顧客からの注文に応じて
プリント出力あるいはファイル出力する際に、オペレー
タの経験によらず誰もが効率よく出力処理を行うことが
できるようにする。 【解決手段】 出力処理を行うタスクを例えばプリント
材料やメディアの種類ごとに割り当て、注文受付機によ
り受け付けた注文情報（処理項目）を必要に応じて処理
項目記憶手段２に記憶してタスク種別に分類する。この
分類に基づいて例えば出力する画像データをそのデータ
を処理するタスクごとに異なるバッファ３に振り分けて
格納し、バッファごとに、同じプリント材料あるいはメ
ディアへの出力処理を一括して行って、プリント材料や
メディアの交換回数を減らす。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、写真画像データの
出力方法および装置に関し、特に詳しくは、複数の異な
る出力処理を、例えばプリント材料や書き込みメディア
を切り替えながら行う写真画像データの出力方法および
装置に関するものである。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】従来、フィルムスキャナにより写真フィ
ルム（以下、単にフィルムという）に記録された写真画
像を読み取って写真画像データを得、画像処理を施して
からプリント出力する写真プリンタが知られている。こ
の写真プリンタは、オペレータにより入力されるプリン
ト枚数などのプリント指示情報にしたがって順次プリン
ト出力を行うものである。
【０００３】このような写真プリンタにより焼き増しプ
リントを作成する場合、通常オペレータは、注文袋、注
文用紙などを注文されたプリントのサイズに応じて予め
仕分けしておき、同じサイズのプリントをまとめて作成
するようにしている。これは、例えば注文単位で処理を
行うと、サイズの異なるプリントを作成する度にプリン
ト材料を切り替えるなどの作業が必要となり、作業効率
が低下するからである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】近年、パソコンの普及
に伴い、プリント出力のみならずＭＯやＺＩＰなどの記
憶メディアへの出力も行う出力サービスおよびフォトフ
ィニッシングシステムが提案されている。
【０００５】このようなシステムでは、プリント材料の
みならず記憶メディアの切替作業も発生するため、従来
の写真プリンタに比べると作業の効率化を図るために考
慮すべき要件が増える。そのため、必ずしも誰もが最適
な手順でプリント作業などの出力処理を行えるとは限ら
ず、オペレータによって作業手順や作業時間が大きく異
なる可能性がある。
【０００６】本発明は上記問題に鑑みて、オペレータの
経験によらず誰もが効率よく写真画像データの出力処理
を行うことができる方法および装置を提供することを目
的とするものである。
【０００７】
【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の写真画像データ
の出力方法は、写真画像を表す複数の写真画像データを
所定の記憶媒体に保管し、保管された写真画像データに
ついて指定された出力処理に関する複数の処理項目を、
該各処理項目により示された処理を行うタスクの種類に
よって分類し、その分類に基づいて決定された順番にし
たがって前記各処理項目により示された処理を行うこと
を特徴とするものである。
【０００８】「所定の記憶媒体」としては具体的には、
写真店やラボに設置されるサーバコンピュータのハード
ディスク、あるいは顧客から写真店などに受け渡される
ＭＯ、ＺＩＰなどのリムーバブルメディアがあげられ
る。
【０００９】「処理項目」とは、写真画像データとその
写真画像データに対して施す出力処理とを対応づけたも
のであり、いわば注文の単位を意味する。具体的には、
出力する画像データを特定する番号、注文者名、プリン
トやファイル出力といった出力処理の種類、プリントの
場合にはプリントのサイズや枚数、ファイル出力の場合
にはメディアの種類やメディアに出力する画像データの
解像度などを示す情報である。また処理の緊急度などの
情報に含めておいてもよい。すなわち、例えば１２番の
画像データを２Ｌサイズのプリントとして１枚出力する
といった処理が１つの処理項目であり、顧客あるいはオ
ペレータにより指定される出力処理は、このような処理
項目が複数含まれたものと見なすことができる。
【００１０】なお、処理項目はオペレータがキーボード
などにより１つ１つ入力指定してもよいし、注文用紙を
読み取ってＯＣＲ入力するなどしてもよい。あるいは顧
客がパソコンなどで作成して画像データに添付した注文
ファイルを、ラボにおいて処理項目として受け付けても
よい。
【００１１】「タスク」は、出力装置に組み込まれてい
る処理プログラムにおける処理単位である。どのような
処理を一単位とするかは設計事項であり特に限定されな
いが、例えば出力形態ごとに１つのタスクを割り当てる
ことができる。具体的には画像データを２Ｌサイズに補
間拡大して２Ｌサイズ用のロールペーパーがセットされ
たプリンタに出力するタスク、あるいは画像データを圧
縮してＭＯドライブを出力先として出力するタスクとい
うように割り当てることができる。あるいは処理を要求
した注文主ごとに１つのタスクを割り当ててもよい。
【００１２】「分類」は例えば写真画像データにそのデ
ータを処理するタスクを示す識別子などを付与してタス
クの種類がわかるようにするだけでもよいが、望ましく
は前記各処理項目において指定された写真画像データを
前記分類ごとに異なるバッファにそれぞれ格納するのが
よい。
【００１３】「分類に基づいて決定された順番にしたが
って」とは、処理項目の指定された順番によらずに、分
類のみにより決定された順番でという意味である。すな
わち、従来の方法および装置では注文された順番で処理
項目を処理していたのに対し、本発明では処理項目の入
力順は特に考慮せず、例えばタスク１により１０個の画
像データを処理した後、タスク２により１０個の画像デ
ータを処理し、以下各タスクにより画像データをそれぞ
れ１０個ずつ一括処理して再びタスク１に戻るといった
出力を行う。あるいは上記バッファの状態を監視し、満
杯になったバッファから順に出力していくといった方法
も好ましい。
【００１４】あるいは、より高効率な出力処理を行うた
めには、指定された複数の処理項目を一旦記憶媒体に記
憶し、前記分類に基づいて、記憶された複数の処理項目
を、その複数の処理項目からなる一連の出力処理の全体
の処理効率が最大となるような順番に並べ、その順番に
したがって前記各処理項目により示された出力処理を行
うようにしてもよい。
【００１５】この際、「全体の処理効率が最大となるよ
うな順番」は、例えば一連の出力処理が写真画像データ
を複数の異なるプリント材料に記録する複数の処理項目
からなる処理である場合には、前記プリント材料の切替
回数を最少にする順番とすればよい。同様に、一連の出
力処理が写真画像データを複数の異なるメディアに記録
する複数の処理項目からなる処理である場合には、前記
メディアの切替回数を最少にする順番とすることができ
る。この他、出力された写真プリントやメディアの仕分
け作業の負担を軽減するような手順も考えられる。
【００１６】ここで、処理効率が最大となる処理手順お
よびその手順を求めるためのアルゴリズムは、処理効率
の判断基準によって異なり、いずれも設計事項として定
めればよいものである。または、オペレータが複数の判
断基準の中から所望の基準を選択できるようにしてもよ
い。
【００１７】また、本発明の写真画像の出力装置は上記
出力方法による出力を行う装置であって、写真画像を表
す複数の写真画像データを保管するための画像データ記
憶手段と、該記憶手段により保管された写真画像データ
について所定の入力手段を解して指定された出力処理に
関する複数の処理項目を、該各処理項目により示された
処理を行うタスクの種類によって分類する処理項目分類
手段と、該処理項目分類手段による分類に基づいて決定
された順番にしたがって前記各処理項目により示された
処理を行う画像データ出力手段とを備えてなることを特
徴とするものであり、望ましくは指定された複数の処理
項目を所定の記憶媒体に記憶する処理項目記憶手段と、
前記分類に基づいて、前記処理項目記憶手段により記憶
された複数の処理項目を、該複数の処理項目からなる一
連の出力処理の全体の処理効率が最大となるような順番
に並べる処理順決定手段とをさらに備え、前記画像デー
タ出力手段が、前記処理順決定手段により決定された順
番にしたがって前記各処理項目により示された出力処理
を行うようにするのがよい。

【発明の効果】本発明の写真画像データの出力方法およ
び装置によれば、注文された出力処理を注文された順番
で行うのではなく、タスクの種類に基づいて分類してか
ら、その分類に基づいて決定された処理順で出力処理を
行うため、処理効率の観点からみて望ましい処理手順で
出力処理を行うことができる。すなわち画像データがタ
スクごとに分類されていれば、例えば各タスクごとにい
くつかの画像データを一括して処理することができるの
で、プリント材料や記録メディアの交換回数が大幅に減
り、作業の効率化を図ることができる。
【００１９】特にタスクごとに異なるバッファを設け、
各バッファにそのタスクにより処理される画像データを
格納することにより分類を行えば、処理すべきデータ数
が多いタスクから優先的に、例えばバッファが満杯にな
ったタスクから優先的に出力を行うといったことができ
る。
【００２０】さらに、処理項目を一旦記憶媒体に保管
し、その記憶された有限個の処理項目（例えば午前中に
受けた注文に関する処理項目）を解析することにより処
理手順の最適化を行ってからその手順にしたがって出力
処理を行うようにすれば、誰でも最も効率の良い手順で
写真画像データの出力処理を行うことができる。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明の写真画像データの
出力方法および装置について、図面を参照して説明す
る。図１は本発明の写真画像データの出力装置の一実施
の形態であり、写真店やラボなどに設置されるフォトフ
ィニッシングシステムを示すものである。
【００２２】このシステムは、写真画像データを注文に
したがって写真プリントとして出力したり、ＭＯ、ＺＩ
Ｐ、ＦＤなどの各種リムーバブルメディアにファイル出
力したりするものである。出力対象となる写真画像デー
タは、フィルムやプリントからスキャナ４により読み取
られ、あるいはデジタルカメラからケーブルインタフェ
ース５やカードリーダ６を介して転送されてラボに設置
される大容量ハードディスクに保管されている写真画像
データ、または、注文の際にネットワークやリムーバブ
ルメディアを介してラボに持ち込まれた写真画像データ
などである。
【００２３】ラボのハードディスクに保管されている写
真画像データは例えば同時プリントが依頼されたときに
蓄積されるものである。各写真画像データは同じディレ
クトリに各データを区別できるようなファイル名で保管
してもよいし、図１に示す例のようにフィルム単位（デ
ジタルカメラの場合にはカメラ単位、あるいはメモリカ
ード単位）でディレクトリを１つ作成し、そのフィルム
の各コマの写真画像データをそのディレクトリに保管す
るようにしてもよい。通常焼き増しプリントなどの注文
が行われる場合、注文およびプリント処理はフィルム単
位で行われることが多いので、階層化して保管しておけ
ば検索が容易になり、また検索時間も短縮できる。
【００２４】写真画像データのプリント出力やファイル
出力の注文は出力注文受付機により受け付けられる。受
付方法としては、オペレータが注文情報をキーボードな
どから直接入力する方法、所定のフォーマットの注文用
紙に注文内容を書き込んでスキャナやＯＣＲを利用して
取り込む方法、あるいはネットワークやリムーバブルメ
ディアを介して注文情報が記述された注文ファイルを取
り込む方法とがある。注文情報とは、出力の種類（プリ
ント出力かファイル出力か）、出力する写真画像データ
を特定するためのコマ番号あるいはＩＤ番号などの情報
である。また、プリント出力の場合にはプリント枚数や
プリントサイズ、ファイル出力の場合にはメディアの種
類、メディアに出力する写真画像データの解像度なども
注文情報として入力しなければならない。この他緊急度
なども含め、出力サービスを行うために必要となるあら
ゆる情報を注文情報として入力することができる。
【００２５】ここで、本発明の効果を明確にすべく従来
のシステムの問題点について説明する。従来のシステム
でオペレータがシステムに対してプリントを指示するた
めの情報（以下プリント指示情報と称する）を入力する
場合、その入力は必ずしも注文単位で行われるとは限ら
なかった。これは、従来のシステムでは入力されたプリ
ント指示情報は入力された順番に直ちに処理されてしま
ったため、注文単位でプリントを指示することはプリン
ト作業の効率の観点から見て必ずしも好ましいとは言え
なかったからである。
【００２６】例えば、あるプリント注文がフィルムＸの
写真の１コマ目を２Ｌサイズ、それ以外をＬサイズで焼
き増しするものであり、他のプリント注文がフィルムＹ
の写真の同じく１コマ目を２Ｌサイズ、それ以外をＬサ
イズで焼き増しするものであるとする。オペレータが注
文単位でプリントを指示した場合、まず２Ｌサイズ用の
プリント材料（ロールペーパー）をセットしてフィルム
Ｘの１コマ目をプリントし、次にプリント材料をＬサイ
ズ用に切り換えてフィルムＸの残りのコマをプリント
し、再びプリント材料を切り換えてフィルムＹの１コマ
目をプリントし、再度プリント材料を切り換えてフィル
ムＹの残りのコマをプリントすることになる。すなわち
３回プリント材料の切替を行わなければならない。
【００２７】このため、オペレータは通常予め各注文の
内容を検討して適当な振り分けを行ってから、プリント
指示情報を入力してプリントを指示していた。例えば上
記例の場合、２Ｌサイズ用のプリント材料をセットして
フィルムＸの１コマ目とフィルムＹの１コマ目のプリン
トを指示し、次にプリント材料を切り換えてフィルムＸ
の残りのコマとフィルムＹの残りのコマのプリントを指
示し、最後に出力されたプリントを各注文ごとに仕分け
してプリント材料の切替回数を減らすための工夫を行っ
ていた。
【００２８】上記のような単純な例の場合は、おそらく
どのオペレータでも同様の工夫を行うことが予想され
る。しかしながら、より多機能なフォトフィニッシング
システム、すなわち例えばプリントの種類も単なる焼き
増しプリントのみならずイラストとの組み合わせが可能
であり、いわゆる写真プリントのみならずポストカード
やカレンダーとしての出力もでき、さらにフォトＣＤ、
ＭＯ、ＺＩＰ、ＦＤなど各種メディアへのファイル出力
機能なども備えたシステムにおいて、各機能を使用する
多種多様な注文を処理する場合には、必ずしも全てのオ
ペレータがシステムに対して最適な手順を指示できると
は限らない。さらに、例えばプリント作業中に緊急のプ
リント依頼が割り込んだ場合などは、再度手順を考え直
さなければならず、オペレータの負担は少なくない。
【００２９】これに対し、本発明の方法および装置では
注文は直ぐには処理されず、一旦タスクの種類に応じて
分類される。この分類は、注文情報のみの分類、すなわ
ち行わなければならない処理の項目をタスクの種類に基
づいて並べ替えるだけでもよいが、望ましくは図１に示
すように出力する画像データもタスク別のバッファ、あ
るいは異なるディレクトリに格納するなどして分類して
おくのがよい。
【００３０】分類された画像データは、各分類ごとに複
数の画像データをまとめて出力する。出力のタイミング
はオペレータの判断で決定したり、バッファが満杯にな
ったら出力するというようにしてもよいし、出力注文受
付機から指示してもよい。例えば、新しい注文を受け付
けながら順次出力処理を行う場合にはバッファの状態を
見て出力のタイミングを決定し、営業時間外など新しい
注文が入力されることがない場合には、出力注文受付機
が未処理の処理項目を解析して最適な処理手順に並べ替
えた後に出力指示を出すようにする方法も考えられる。
【００３１】なお、図１に示す例では、タスクはプリン
ト材料やメディアドライブを特定した出力処理を行うも
のであるが、このほか処理の緊急度ごとにタスクおよび
バッファを設け、緊急度の高いタスクから順に出力処理
を実行したり、注文主ごとに分類を行う方法なども考え
られる。
【００３２】図２は注文Ｐおよび注文Ｑの２つの注文情
報に基づいて決定された最適な処理手順の一例を示す図
である。注文Ｐはグループ旅行の写真の焼き増し注文で
あり、グループの１人であるＡさんは焼き増しプリント
ではなくＭＯへの書き込みを希望している。注文Ｑは注
文Ｐの中のＢさんの追加注文であり、顧客には注文Ｐと
注文Ｑによる出力分をまとめてグループの各人ごとに仕
分けして返却するものとする。
【００３３】図２の例では、出力先の切替回数を最少に
することを最も優先し、各人ごとの仕分け作業の負担を
軽減することを次に優先して最適化を行っている。その
結果求められる処理手順は、図に示されるように、最初
にＭＯへの出力を行い、次に各サイズごとにプリント出
力をそれぞれまとめて行うというものである。さらに各
サイズごとのプリント出力は、コマごとではなくグルー
プの各人ごとに行う。
【００３４】また注文情報の中に緊急の指示が含まれて
いる注文については、最優先で処理されるように手順が
決定される。また出力処理中に緊急の依頼を受け付けた
場合には、例えばＭＯへの出力が終了した時点などにシ
ステムが自動的に割り込みをかけて、緊急の処理を行
う。
【００３５】なお、図２の例の場合、ＭＯ出力終了時に
割り込みが行われたとすると、以降の処理はＬサイズの
プリント出力から再開されることになるが、例えば緊急
に行った処理の最後の処理が２Ｌサイズ用ロールペーパ
ーへの出力であった場合には、引き続き２Ｌサイズのプ
リント出力を行う方がプリント材料の切替回数は少なく
なるため、割り込み処理終了後の処理手順を再決定して
調整を行うようにしてもよい。
【００３６】ここで、何を優先して処理手順の最適化を
行うかは設計事項の１つにすぎず上記例は一例にすぎな
い。例えばプリント材料を単にスイッチの切替で切り換
えられる場合と、材料を交換しなければならない場合と
ではプリント回数削減の優先順位は異なる。したがっ
て、機種ごとに異なる最適化の方法を採用したり、ある
いは複数の最適化方法をオペレータが選択的に使い分け
られるようにすることが望ましい。なお、最適化処理は
ソフトウェアによって行われるものであり、そのアルゴ
リズムは所定の項目をキーとした並べ替えにすぎない。
これは、当業者にとって明らかであるため、ここでは詳
細な説明は省略する。

Claims (20)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 写真画像を表す複数の写真画像データを
    所定の記憶媒体に保管し、 該保管された写真画像データについて指定された出力処
    理に関する複数の処理項目を、該各処理項目により示さ
    れた処理を行うタスクの種類によって分類し、 該分類に基づいて決定された順番にしたがって前記各処
    理項目により示された処理を行うことを特徴とする写真
    画像データの出力方法。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記分類の際に、前記各処理項目におい
    て指定された写真画像データを前記分類ごとに異なるバ
    ッファにそれぞれ格納することを特徴とする請求項１記
    載の写真画像データの出力方法。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記分類の際に同じ分類に振り分けられ
    た複数の処理項目において指定された複数の写真画像デ
    ータを、前記分類に対応するタスクによりそれぞれ一括
    して出力することを特徴とする請求項１または２記載の
    写真画像データの出力方法。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記処理項目が、前記写真画像データに
    添付される注文ファイルに記述された注文情報として指
    定されたものであることを特徴とする請求項１から３の
    いずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力方法。
  5. 【請求項５】 前記タスクがプリント材料を特定した出
    力処理を行うタスクであることを特徴とする請求項１か
    ら４のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力方法。
  6. 【請求項６】 前記タスクが記録メディアを特定した出
    力処理を行うタスクであることを特徴とする請求項１か
    ら４のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力方法。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記タスクが注文主を特定した出力処理
    を行うタスクであることを特徴とする請求項１から４の
    いずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力方法。
  8. 【請求項８】 前記指定された複数の処理項目を所定の
    記憶媒体に記憶し、 前記分類に基づいて、前記記憶された複数の処理項目
    を、該複数の処理項目からなる一連の出力処理の全体の
    処理効率が最大となるような順番に並べ、 前記順番にしたがって前記各処理項目により示された出
    力処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項１から７のいずれ
    か１項記載の写真画像データの出力方法。
  9. 【請求項９】 前記一連の出力処理が写真画像データを
    複数の異なるプリント材料に記録する複数の処理項目か
    らなる処理であり、 前記順番が、前記プリント材料の切替回数を最少にする
    順番であることを特徴とする請求項８記載の写真画像デ
    ータの出力方法。
  10. 【請求項１０】 前記一連の出力処理が写真画像データ
    を複数の異なるメディアに記録する複数の処理項目から
    なる処理であり、 前記順番が、前記メディアの切替回数を最少にする順番
    であることを特徴とする請求項８記載の写真画像データ
    の出力方法。
  11. 【請求項１１】 写真画像を表す複数の写真画像データ
    を保管するための画像データ記憶手段と、 該記憶手段により保管された写真画像データについて所
    定の入力手段を解して指定された出力処理に関する複数
    の処理項目を、該各処理項目により示された処理を行う
    タスクの種類によって分類する処理項目分類手段と、 該処理項目分類手段による分類に基づいて決定された順
    番にしたがって前記各処理項目により示された処理を行
    う画像データ出力手段とを備えてなることを特徴とする
    写真画像データの出力装置。
  12. 【請求項１２】 前記処理項目分類手段が、前記分類の
    際に、前記各処理項目において指定された写真画像デー
    タを前記分類ごとに異なるバッファにそれぞれ格納する
    ことを特徴とする請求項１１記載の写真画像データの出
    力装置。
  13. 【請求項１３】 前記画像データ出力手段が、前記分類
    の際に同じ分類に振り分けられた複数の処理項目におい
    て指定された複数の写真画像データを、前記分類に対応
    するタスクによりそれぞれ一括して出力することを特徴
    とする請求項１１または１２記載の写真画像データの出
    力装置。
  14. 【請求項１４】 前記処理項目が、前記写真画像データ
    に添付される注文ファイルに記述された注文情報として
    指定されたものであることを特徴とする請求項１１から
    １３のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力装置。
  15. 【請求項１５】 前記タスクがプリント材料を特定した
    出力処理を行うタスクであることを特徴とする請求項１
    １から１４のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力
    装置。
  16. 【請求項１６】 前記タスクが記録メディアを特定した
    出力処理を行うタスクであることを特徴とする請求項１
    １から１４のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力
    装置。
  17. 【請求項１７】 前記タスクが注文主を特定した出力処
    理を行うタスクであることを特徴とする請求項１１から
    １４のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力装置。
  18. 【請求項１８】 前記指定された複数の処理項目を所定
    の記憶媒体に記憶する処理項目記憶手段と、 前記分類に基づいて、前記処理項目記憶手段により記憶
    された複数の処理項目を、該複数の処理項目からなる一
    連の出力処理の全体の処理効率が最大となるような順番
    に並べる処理順決定手段とをさらに備え、 前記画像データ出力手段が、前記処理順決定手段により
    決定された順番にしたがって前記各処理項目により示さ
    れた出力処理を行うことを特徴とする請求項１１から１
    ７のいずれか１項記載の写真画像データの出力装置。
  19. 【請求項１９】 前記処理順決定手段が、前記一連の出
    力処理が写真画像データを複数の異なるプリント材料に
    記録する複数の処理項目からなる処理であるときに前記
    処理項目を前記プリント材料の切替回数を最少にする順
    番に並べることを特徴とする請求項１８記載の写真画像
    データの出力装置。
  20. 【請求項２０】 前記処理順決定手段が、前記一連の出
    力処理が写真画像データを複数の異なるメディアに記録
    する複数の処理項目からなる処理であるときに、前記処
    理項目を前記メディアの切替回数を最少にする順番に並
    べることを特徴とする請求項１８記載の写真画像データ
    の出力装置。
