Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 受信機を有する通信センターにメッセージを通信する送信機を各々有 する複数のリモートユーザの通信ネットワークに於いて、システム用法及びキャ パシティに従って通信クオリティを効果的にするためのサブシステムであって、 上記用法のレベルに従ってレートコントロール信号を条件付きで提供すると共 に上記システム用法を決定するモニタ手段と、 上記リモートユーザの対応する通信ネットワークの上記データレート調整する と共に上記レートコントロール信号を受信する上記リモートユーザの対応する通 信ネットワークに各々配列する複数の応答手段と を具備するサブシステム。 2. 上記モニタ手段は上記送信センターに配列されるものであり、 上記リモートユーザに上記レートコントロール信号を送信すると共に上記リモ ートユーザにメッセージを送信する通信センター送信手段と、 各々が、上記応答手段の対応する通信ネットワークに上記レートコントロール 信号を送信すると共に上記レートコントロール信号を受信する上記リモートユー ザの対応する通信ネットワークに配列された複数のリモート受信機手段と を更に具備する請求の範囲1に記載のサブシステム。 3. 上記モニタ手段は、所定の期間上記メッセージ信号のエネルギ−を測 定することによって上記システム用法を決定する請求の範囲1に記載のサブシス テム。 4. 上記応答手段は、 上記レートコントロール信号を受信して上記レートコントロール信号に応じた レートコマンド信号を提供するプロセッサ手段と、 スピーチデータ及び上記レートコマンド信号を受信して上記コマンド信号に従 ったレートで上記スピーチデータをエンコードする可変レートボコーダ手段とを 具備する請求の範囲1に記載のサブシステム。 5. 上記可変レートボコーダ手段は、上記スピーチデータのエネルギ−に 従って上記スピーチデータを更にエンコードする請求の範囲4に記載のサブシス テム。 6. 上記プロセッサ手段は、更に送信用のノンスピーチデータを受信して 上記レートコントロール信号に従ったレートで上記ノンスピーチデータを提供す る請求の範囲4に記載のサブシステム。 7. メッセージデータ及びレートコントロールコマンドを備える信号を受 信する受信機と、 スピーチデータを受信して上記レートコントロールコマンドに従った上記スピ ーチデータをエンコードする可変レートボコーダと、 上記エンコードされたスピーチデータを送信する送信機と を具備する可変レートトランシーバ。 8. 上記受信機と上記可変レートボコーダ間に配置されて上記受信された 信号を復調するデモジュレータと、 デモジュレータと上記可変レートボコーダ間に配置されて上記復調された信号 を受信して上記メッセージデータ及び上記レートコントロールコマンドを別々に 提供するプロセッサと を更に具備する請求の範囲7に記載の可変レートトランシーバ。 9. 上記プロセッサは、更に送信のためのノンスピーチデータを受信する 請求の範囲8に記載の可変レートトランシーバ。 10. 上記可変レートボコーダと上記送信機間に配置されて上記エンコード されたスピーチデータを変調するモジュレータを更に具備する請求の範囲7に記 載の可変レートトランシーバ。 11. 上記可変レートボコーダと上記送信機間に配置されて上記エンコード されたスピーチデータを変調するモジュレータを更に具備する請求の範囲7に記 載の可変レートトランシーバ。 12. ベースステーションで、このベースステーションのユーザキャパシテ ィを制御する装置であって、 上記ベースステーションの用法を測定する用法決定手段と、 少なくとも1つの所定値に対して上記計測された用法を比較して上記比較に従 ってレートコントロール信号を選択的に提供するレートコントロール手段と、 上記レートコントロール信号を送信する送信手段と を具備する装置。 13. 上記リモートユーザに対する送信用のメッセージデータ及び上記レー トコントロール信号を受信して、合成データパケットを提供するために上記メッ セージデータと上記レートコントロール信号を組合わせるプロセッサ手段を更に 具備する請求の範囲12に記載の装置。 14. 上記プロセッサ手段と送信機の間に配置されて上記合成データパケッ トを変調するモジュレータを更に具備する請求の範囲13に記載の装置。 15. 複数のリモートユーザに伴ってフォワードリンクのメッセージを通信 するベースステーションの通信システムに於いて、上記メッセージ通信のデータ レートを制御する装置であって、 上記フォワードリンクの用法値を決定する用法決定手段と、 上記用法値を受信し、上記用法値と少なくとも1つの所定の閾値とを比較して 、この比較に従ってレートコントロール信号を条件付きで提供するレートコント ロールロジック手段と、 上記レートコントロール信号に従ったレートでデータを提供する少なくとも1 つの可変レートデータソースと を具備する装置。 16. 上記少なくとも1つの可変レートデータソースは、可変レートでスピ ーチをエンコードする少なくとも1つの可変レートボコーダ手段で構成される請 求の範囲15に記載の装置。 17. 上記用法決定手段は、上記リモートユーザに対する送信のための信号 のエネルギ−を測定する請求の範囲15に記載の装置。 18. 通信リソースの用法を効果的にする方法であって、 上記通信リソースの上記用法を測定するステップと、 上記測定された用法値と少なくとも1つの閾値とを比較するステップと、 上記比較に従って上記通信リソースの通信のデータレートを調整するステップ と を具備する方法。 19. 上記測定された用法値と少なくとも1つの所定の閾値とを比較するス テップは、上記用法値と所定の高い用法閾値とを比較するステップから成り、上 記通信リソースの通信のデータレートを調整するステップは、上記用法値が上記 高い用法閾値を越えた場合に上記通信のデータレートを減少させるステップから 成る請求の範囲18に記載の方法。 20. 上記測定された用法値と少なくとも1つの所定の閾値とを比較するス テップは、上記用法値と所定の低い用法閾値とを比較するステップから成り、上 記通信リソースの通信のデータレートを調整するステップは、上記用法値が上記 低い用法閾値より落ちた場合に上記通信のデータレートを増加させる請求の範囲 18に記載の方法。
