Claims (36)
- 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에서 역방향 링크의 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 방법에 있어서,다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 다수의 원격 사용자들 각각으로부터 신호를 통신 센터에서 수신하는 단계;통신 센터와 각각의 원격 사용자들 사이에서의 전송 데이터율 및 원격 사용자들의 수에 따라 통신 센터 및 다수의 원격 사용자들 사이의 통신 자원의 사용량을 결정하는 단계;상기 통신 자원의 사용량에 따라 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 단계; 및적어도 하나의 원격 사용자로 상기 레이트 제어 신호를 제공하는 단계를 포함하며,상기 레이트 제어 신호는 상기 적어도 하나의 원격 사용자로부터 통신 센터로의 전송 데이터율을 제어하도록 명령하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 통신 자원 사용량 결정 단계는 각각의 원격 사용자들로부터 수신된 신호들의 에너지값을 계산하는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,복수의 원격 사용자들 각각으로부터의 신호는 통신 자원 품질을 표시하는 신호를 포함하고, 상기 통신 자원 사용량 결정은 통신 자원 품질을 표시하는 신호들에 따라 결정되는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제3항에 있어서,통신 자원 품질을 표시하는 신호는 프레임 에러율을 표시하는 신호를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 단계는사용량을 적어도 하나의 임계치와 비교하는 단계; 및상기 비교 결과에 따라 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서,사용량을 적어도 하나의 임계치와 비교하는 단계는 제1 임계치와 사용량을 비교하는 단계를 포함하며;비교 결과에 따라 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 단계는 사용량이 상기 제1 임계치보다 작은 경우 전송 데이터율을 증가시키는 신호를 발생시키는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서,사용량을 적어도 하나의 임계치와 비교하는 단계는 제2 임계치와 사용량을 비교하는 단계를 포함하며;비교 결과에 따라 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 단계는 사용량이 상기 제2 임계치보다 큰 경우 전송 데이터율을 감소시키는 신호를 발생시키는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서,소정 사용량에 도달되면 추가적인 사용자들이 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 것을 차단하는 신호를 발생시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에서 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 방법에 있어서,통신 센터 및 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 다수의 원격 사용자들 사이의 통신 자원 사용량에 따른 레이트 제어 신호를 통신 센터로부터 수신하는 단계; 및레이트 제어 신호에 따라 적어도 하나의 원격 사용자로부터 통신 센터로의 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 단계를 포함하며,통신 자원의 사용량은 원격 사용자들의 수 및 통신 센터와 각각의 원격 사용자들 사이의 전송 데이터율에 따라 결정되는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서,전송 데이터율을 제어하는 단계는 각 데이터 소스의 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서,전송 데이터율을 제어하는 단계는 적어도 2개의 상이한 데이터율들을 결합시키는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제11항에 있어서,적어도 2개의 상이한 데이터율들을 결합시키는 단계는전송될 데이터를 복수의 프레임들로 인코딩하는 단계를 포함하며, 여기서 복수 프레임들 중 적어도 하나의 서브세트는 복수 프레임들 중 다른 서브세트의 데이터율들과는 상이한 데이터율에서 인코딩되는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제12항에 있어서,전송될 데이터를 인코딩하는 단계는 복수의 지원가능한 보코더 인코딩 레이트들 중에서 인코딩 레이트를 선택하는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제9항에 있어서,전송 데이터율을 제어하는 단계는 레이트 제어 신호에 따라 전송 레이트를 변화시킬 것인지 여부를 각 원격 사용자들의 서비스 옵션에 따라 결정하는 단계를 포함하는 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 제1항 또는 9항에 있어서,상기 다중 사용자 통신 시스템은 확산 스펙트럼 통신 시스템인 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율 제어 방법.
- 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에서 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 서브 시스템으로서,다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 복수의 원격 사용자들 각각으로부터 신호를 수신하도록 구현된 수신기;다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 원격 사용자들의 수 및 통신 센터와 원격 사용자들 사이의 전송 데이터율에 따라 통신 센터와 복수의 원격 사용자들 사이의 통신 자원의 사용량을 결정하도록 구현된 사용량 계산 엘리먼트;상기 사용량 계산 엘리먼트와 통신적으로 연결되어 통신 자원 사용량에 따라 적어도 하나의 원격 사용자로부터 통신 센터로의 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키도록 구현된 레이트 제어 논리부; 및상기 레이트 제어 논리부와 통신적으로 연결되어 적어도 하나의 원격 사용자로 레이트 제어 신호를 제공하도록 구현된 송신기를 포함하는 서브시스템.
- 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에서 역방향 링크 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 서브시스템으로서,다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 복수의 원격 사용자들 각각으로부터의 신호를 수신하도록 구현된 수신기;원격 사용자들의 수 및 통신 센터와 각각의 원격 사용자들 사이의 전송 데이터율에 따라 통신 센터와 복수의 원격 사용자들 사이의 통신 자원 사용량을 결정하도록 구현된 사용량 계산 엘리먼트;상기 사용량 계산 엘리먼트와 통신적으로 연결되어 통신 자원의 사용량에 따라 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키도록 구현된 레이트 제어 논리부;상기 레이트 제어 논리부와 통신적으로 연결되어 적어도 하나의 원격 사용자들로 레이트 제어 신호를 제공하도록 구현된 송신기; 및상기 송신기와 통신적으로 연결되어 레이트 제어 신호에 따라 적어도 하나의 원격 사용자들로부터 통신 센터로의 전송 데이터율을 제어하도록 구현된 프로세서를 포함하는 서브시스템.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 사용량 계산 엘리먼트는 원격 사용자들 각각으로부터 수신된 신호들의 에너지 값을 계산하도록 구현됨으로써 통신 자원의 사용량을 결정하는 서브시스템.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 사용량 계산 엘리먼트는통신 자원 품질을 표시하는 신호를 각각의 원격 사용자들로부터 수신하고,상기 신호들에 따라 통신 자원의 사용량을 결정하도록 구현됨으로써 통신 자원의 사용량을 결정하는 서브시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,통신 자원의 품질을 표시하는 신호는 프레임 에러율을 표시하는 신호를 포함하는 서브시스템.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 레이트 제어 논리부는사용량을 적어도 하나의 임계치와 비교하고,그 비교결과에 따라 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키도록 구현됨으로써 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 서브시스템.
- 제21항에 있어서,상기 레이트 제어 논리부는 사용량을 제1 임계치와 비교하도록 구현함으로써 적어도 하나의 임계치와 사용량을 비교하고;상기 레이트 제어 논리부는 사용량이 제1 임계치보다 작은 경우 전송 데이터율을 증가시키는 신호를 발생시킴으로써 상기 비교결과에 따른 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 서브시스템.
- 제21항에 있어서,상기 레이트 제어 논리부는 사용량을 제2 임계치와 비교하도록 구현됨으로써 적어도 하나의 임계치와 사용량을 비교하고;상기 레이트 제어 논리부는 사용량이 제2 임계치보다 큰 경우 전송 데이터율을 감소시키는 신호를 발생시키도록 구현됨으로써 상기 비교결과에 따른 레이트 제어 신호를 발생시키는 서브시스템.
- 제21항에 있어서,상기 레이트 제어 논리부는 소정 사용량에 도달되면 추가적인 사용자들이 다중 사용자 통신 시스템에 접속하는 것을 차단하도록 하는 신호를 발생시키도록 추가적으로 구현되는 서브시스템.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 프로세서는 각 데이터 소스의 전송 데이터율을 제어하도록 구현됨으로써 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 서브시스템.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 프로세서는 적어도 2개의 상이한 데이터율들을 결합시키도록 구현됨으로써 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 서브시스템.
- 제26항에 있어서,상기 프로세서는 전송될 데이터를 복수의 프레임들로 인코딩하도록 구현됨으로써 적어도 2개의 상이한 데이터율들을 결합하며, 복수의 프레임들 중 적어도 하나의 서브세트는 복수의 프레임들 중 다른 서브세트들의 데이터 프레임들과는 상이한 데이터율에서 인코딩되는 서브시스템.
- 제27항에 있어서,상기 프로세서는 복수의 지원가능한 보코더 인코딩 레이트들 중에서 인코딩 레이트를 선택하도록 구현됨으로써 전송될 데이터를 인코딩하는 서브시스템.
- 제17항에 있어서,상기 프로세서는 레이트 제어 신호에 따라 전송 레이트를 변경시킬 것인지 여부를 각각의 원격 사용자들의 서비스 옵션에 따라 결정하도록 구현됨으로써 전송 데이터율을 제어하는 서브시스템.
