Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】この出願の発明は、熱可塑性樹脂
帯の端部相互の融着方法に関するものである。
【0002】
【従来の技術】熱可塑性樹脂により構成されたコンベア
ベルトの端部相互を接合してループ状にする場合、ベル
トの端部相互を突合わせ、この突合わせ部分を金型で挟
圧すると共にこの金型を加熱し、これにより融着するよ
うにしている。上記の如くループ状のベルトを製作する
場合、従来は図12に示すように、押圧部90に加熱・
冷却盤4’を付設したプレス機9及び、二枚の平面板8
9で構成された金型88を使用し、以下に示す〜に
したがって行われている。尚、上記した加熱・冷却盤
4’は、ヒータ及び冷却水通過配管を有する構成として
あり、加熱状態にする場合にはヒータをON状態にし、
又、冷却状態にする場合には冷却水通過配管に冷却水を
供給状態にするものである。 .先ず、ベルトの端部をフィンガー状に形成する。 .前記フィンガー状部分相互を突き合わせた状態で、
この突き合わせ部分を金型で挟み込む。 .次に、上記したプレス機9により加熱状態(熱可塑
性樹脂の溶融温度)にした加熱・冷却盤4’を介して金
型の中央部分(接合したい部分)を挟圧する。 .一定時間上記挟圧状態を維持したままで、加熱・冷
却盤4’を冷却状態にすると溶融していた部分が固形化
し、ベルトの両端部相互は接合状態となる。 .その後、ベルトを金型から取り外し、バリ等を裁断
すればループ状のベルトが完成することとなる。
【0003】しかしながら、上記プレス機9を使用する
上記方法では、一旦加熱状態にした加熱・冷却盤4’を
この状態から冷却しなければならず、又、一つのベルト
接合終了後、連続して他のベルトを接合する場合、冷却
された状態の加熱・冷却盤4’を再び加熱状態にしなけ
ればならないことから、ベルトの端部相互の接合に多く
の時間を要するという問題がある。
【0004】尚、上記問題はベルトの端部接合に限ら
ず、熱可塑性樹脂で構成された帯状体の端部相互の接合
に際し同様に問題となる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】そこで、この出願の発
明では、熱可塑性樹脂で構成された帯状体の端部相互の
融着における時間の短縮化を図り得る、熱可塑性樹脂帯
の端部相互の融着方法を提供することを課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】この出願の請求項1記載
の発明では、熱可塑性樹脂帯の端部相互の融着方法に関
し、熱可塑性樹脂帯における端部相互の突き合わせた部
分を、一対の型板により挟み込む第1工程と、クランプ
により、前記型板相互を接近させるべく前記型板の両端
を挟圧すると共にこの挟圧状態を維持させる第2工程
と、前記突き合わせ部分と対応する型板部分に熱可塑性
樹脂が溶融する程度の温度の加熱体を当接させる第3工
程と、前記第3工程から一定時間後に加熱体を型板から
外す第4工程と、第4工程後上記加熱体とは別の冷却体
を型板に当接させる第5工程とを有するものとしてい
る。
【0007】又、上記請求項2記載の発明では、上記請
求項1記載の考案の第1工程において、雌型に形成して
ある熱可塑性樹脂帯の幅よりも僅かに大きい幅の溝の底
面と、雄型に形成してある前記溝幅よりも僅かに幅の小
さい突面とにより、熱可塑性樹脂帯を挟み込むようにし
ている。

【作用】この出願の発明は次の作用を有する。この発明
を採用した場合、第3工程において型板に当設させた加
熱体を第4工程において型板から外し、この状態で第5
工程において冷却体を直接型板に当設させて型板を冷却
することから、従来の技術の欄に記載したような、一
旦、高温度に加熱せしめられた加熱・冷却盤を所定の温
度まで冷却するような無駄な操作が不要となり、その結
果、第3工程と第4工程間において溶融状態にあった熱
可塑性樹脂帯の固形化は第5工程において急速に始まる
こととなる。
【0009】又、一つのベルト接合終了後、連続して他
のベルトを接合する場合、冷却された状態の加熱・冷却
盤4を再び加熱状態にしなければならない従来の技術の
欄のものと比較するとベルトの接合すべき部分の溶融が
急速に始まることとなる。

【実施例】以下、この出願の発明の構成を実施例として
示した図面に従って説明する。この実施例は、この出願
の考案の方法によりケブラー繊維を埋設した熱可塑性樹
脂のコンベアベルト(幅:30mm)をループ状に形成す
るものであり、図1に示すように、ケブラー繊維30が
埋設されたベルト3の両端部をそれぞれフィンガー状に
成形し、図2に示す如くフィンガー状部分相互を突き合
わせてこれを融着している。
【0011】そして、この実施例では上記のようにベル
ト3の端部相互を接合する為、図3に示すような雄型1
と雌型2とから成る金型Kを使用している。上記雌型2
は鉄材により構成されており、図4に示すように、その
上面に溝20が形成してあると共にこの溝20の幅は3
0.0mm(公差:上限+0.02,下限−0 )に設定してあ
る。
【0012】雄型1はアルミニウム材により構成されて
おり、同図に示すように、その下面に突面10が形成し
てあると共にこの突面10の幅は30.0mm(公差:上
限+0,下限−0.02)に設定してある。そして、上記した
雌型2の溝20の深さを、ベルト3の厚みの2〜3倍程
度に設定している。
【0013】ここで、加熱盤4、冷却盤5及び図5に示
すようなハサミ状のクランプ6(作用部相互の間隔が所
望の位置で固定できるようになっている)とを使用する
と、以下に示す〜の順序でベルト3の端部相互の溶
着が行える。尚、上記加熱盤4としては内部にヒータを
有する構成としてあり、冷却盤5としては内部に冷却水
を通す構成としてある。 .ベルト3の端部相互を図1に示す如くフィンガー状
に形成する。 .図6に示すように、フィンガー状部分相互を突き合
わせた状態で、この突き合わせ部分を雌型2の溝20内
に嵌入し、その後、雄型1を雌型2に組み合わせる(第
1工程)。尚、この組合せ状態では、図7に示す如く状
態となっており、雄型1と雌型2との嵌合状態はすきま
嵌めになっている。 .次に、クランプ6により、図5に示す如く、の状
態にある金型Kを両端近傍を挟圧すると共に前記挟圧状
態を維持する(第2工程)。 .そして、図8に示すように、金型Kにおける中央部
分(ベルト3の端部相互の突き合わせ部と対応する部
分)に上下から180°C 程度に昇温させた加熱盤4を
当接させる(第3工程)。
【0014】尚、この実施例のものでは、雄型1をアル
ミニウム材(線膨張係数:23.5×10 -6)により、雌型2
を鉄材(線膨張係数:12.1×10-6)により、それぞれ構
成してあるから、上記した温度状態では図9に示す如く
雄型1の突面10と雌型2の溝20との嵌合状態は所謂
とまり嵌め又はしまり嵌めとなっており、雄型1と雌型
2との隙間から溶融した樹脂がはみ出ないものとなって
いる。 .一定時間経過後、クランプ6をそのまま維持しなが
ら上記加熱盤4を金型Kから外し(第4工程)、図10
に示すように、金型Kの中央部分に冷却盤5を上下から
当接させる(第5工程)。すると、溶融状態にあった熱
可塑性樹脂帯の固形化は急速に始まることとなる。 .一定時間経過後、クランプ6を解きベルト3を金型
Kから取り外すと、図2に示すようなループ状のベルト
が完成することとなる。
【0015】尚、上記したベルト3の金型Kからの取り
外し時においては、雄型1の突面10と雌型2の溝20
との嵌合状態はゆるみ嵌めとなっており、雄型1と雌型
2との分離は容易なものとなっている。又、雄型1と雌
型2との隙間から溶融した樹脂がはみ出ないものとなっ
ていることから、完成したベルトにおいてバリはほとん
ど発生していない。
【0016】上記実施例に記載した方法によると、作用
・効果の欄に記載したように、溶融状態にあった熱可塑
性樹脂帯の固形化は急速に始まることから、熱可塑性樹
脂帯の端部相互の融着における所要時間は短かいものと
なる。そして、この方法によっても上記ベルト3の融着
部分において発泡化していないことが確認された。尚、
上記実施例では、この考案の方法をコンベアベルトの両
端部の接合に使用したが、これに限定されることなく、
熱可塑性の帯状体であれば接合に際して同様の効果を得
ることができる。
【0017】又、上記実施例では、手段の欄の加熱体と
して加熱盤を使用したが、これに限定されることなく、
所謂バンドヒータを使用するようにしてもよい。この場
合、金型に前記取扱いが非常に容易なものとなる。他
方、上記実施例ではクランプ6をハサミ状のものとした
が、これに限定されることなく、図11に示すように、
ボルト70の締め込みによって雄型1を雌型2に押しつ
ける形式のクランプ6を採用してもよく、又、その他公
知のクランプを採用してもよい。

【発明の効果】この出願の発明は、上述の如くの構成を
有するものであるから、次の効果を有する。このもので
は、作用の欄に記載したように、溶融状態にあった熱可
塑性樹脂帯の固形化は急速に始まることとなるから、熱
可塑性樹脂帯の端部相互の融着における時間の短縮化を
図ることができることとなる。即ち、熱可塑性樹脂で構
成された帯状体の端部相互の融着における時間の短縮化
を図り得る、熱可塑性樹脂帯の端部相互の融着方法を提
供できた。
【0019】又、このものでは、一つのベルト接合終了
後、連続して他のベルトを接合する場合、冷却された状
態の加熱・冷却盤4を再び加熱状態にしなければならな
い従来の技術の欄のものと比較してベルトの接合すべき
部分の溶融が急速に始まることとなり、その結果、多数
の熱可塑性樹脂帯の端部相互の融着を連続的に行うに際
して時間の短縮化を図ることができることとなる。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性樹脂帯における端部相互の突き
    合わせた部分を、一対の型板により挟み込む第1工程
    と、クランプにより、前記型板相互を接近させるべく前
    記型板の両端を挟圧すると共にこの挟圧状態を維持させ
    る第2工程と、前記突き合わせ部分と対応する型板部分
    に熱可塑性樹脂が溶融する程度の温度の加熱体を当接さ
    せる第3工程と、前記第3工程から一定時間後に加熱体
    を型板から外す第4工程と、第4工程後上記加熱体とは
    別の冷却体を型板に当接させる第5工程とを有する熱可
    塑性樹脂帯の端部相互の融着方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 第1工程において、雌型に形成してある
    熱可塑性樹脂帯の幅よりも僅かに大きい幅の溝の底面
    と、雄型に形成してある前記溝幅よりも僅かに幅の小さ
    い突面とにより、熱可塑性樹脂帯を挟み込むようにした
    ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の熱可塑性樹脂帯の端部
    相互の融着方法。
