Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン樹脂
等熱可塑性樹脂にて成形された成形体同士を溶着
する方法に関するものである。
〔従来の技術〕
上記ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン樹脂等の熱
可塑性樹脂にて成形された成形体同士は接着剤に
て固着することが困難であるので、両接合面を溶
融させて押圧溶着するようにした溶着手段がとら
れている。
ところで、従来のこの種の溶着方法としては、
特開昭52−90584号公報に示されたように、両接
合面に熱風を吹きつけてこの部分を加熱溶融して
から両成形体の接合面を押圧当接して溶着するよ
うにした方法と、特公昭55−17693号公報に示さ
れるように、両接合面を熱板によつて溶融し、そ
の後両接合面を加圧当接して溶着するようにした
方法がある。
そしてこれらの溶着方法では、押出し成形ある
いは射出成形等の成形手段にて個々に成形された
成形体を、溶着工程にて直接その両接合面を溶着
するようにしていた。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
上記従来の溶着方法では、接合面が必ずしも平
坦でなく、表面に凹凸や波打ち変形がある成形体
の接合面を加熱溶融して溶着しなければならない
ため、接合面の溶融深さを大きくとり、しかも接
合時に両接合面に比較的大きな押圧力をかけなけ
ればならなかつた。
このため接合後の成形体の成形部には全周囲に
わたつて溶融バリが発生してしまい、折角個々の
成形体を射出成形等により形よく成形したにもか
かわらず、接合後の成形体の外観形状が上記溶融
バリによつて見苦しくなつてしまうという問題が
あつた。
〔問題点を解決するための手段及び作用〕
本発明は上記のことにかんがみなされたもの
で、接合成形体を構成する両半体のそれぞれの接
合面を、これの加熱溶融に先行して互いに押圧し
て平面修正すること、及び両接合面を間接的加熱
することにより、それぞれの接合面をこれの全面
にわたつて均一な深さで溶融することができ、従
つて両接合面は浅い溶融深さでもつて、しかもそ
れ程大きな押圧力を加えることなしに強固に接合
でき、また溶融深さが浅いことにより、接合部に
は溶融バリが発生することがなく、接合後の外観
形状を溶融バリによつて損なうことがないように
した熱可塑性樹脂成形体の溶着方法を提供しよう
とするものである。
すなわち、熱可塑性樹脂にて成形した2つの半
体のそれぞれの接合面を、成形温度より低い塑性
変形可能な温度で互いに接触押圧して平面修正
し、ついで、両接合面に熱板を対抗させて両接合
面を熱板あるいは熱風ノイズによる間接的加熱に
て溶融し、その後熱板を取出して両半体の接合面
を加圧溶着する。
〔実施例〕
本発明の実施態様を図面に参照して説明する。
(1) 射出成形法により、接合しようとする2つの
半体1a,1bを同時に成形し、ついで、これ
らを、それぞれの接合面2a,2bを対向させ
る(第1図)。上記両半体1a,1bの接合面
2a,2bはフランジ状になつている。この両
半体1a,1bの対向設置は成形後直ちに、成
形温度があまり低下しない温度、すなわち塑性
変形可能な温度であるうちに行なう。なお上記
両半体1a,1bはポリピロピレン樹脂にて成
形した。
(2) 両半体1a,1bの接合面2a,2bを当接
し、フランジの裏側から押圧具3a,3bにて
押圧する(第2図)。このとき、両接合面の温
度は40〜80℃程度であることが望ましく、この
温度は上記射出成形時の温度を保持して得ても
よいが、押圧具3a,3bに加熱体を用いて加
熱してもよい。
この接合面2a,2bに対する押圧力は2〜
5Kg/cm2程度であり、また1〜10秒間押圧す
る。この押圧工程により、接合面2a,2bは
互いに密着するように平面修正される。
(3) 両半体1a,1bを離間する(第3図)。
(4) 両半体1a,1bの接合面2a,2b間に熱
板4を挿入する(第4図)。
(5) 両半体1a,1bを、それぞれの接合面2
a,2bが熱板に対して0.8mm程度の間隔があ
いて対向する位置まで前進させる(第5図)。
この工程において、熱板4の温度は400〜450
℃であり、各接合面2a,2bの温度は220〜
280℃となる。この加熱を15秒程続ける。これ
により両接合面2a,2bは熱板4より輻射熱
を受けこれの表面がある深さにわたつて溶融さ
れる。
(6) 熱板4を両接合面2a,2b間より取出す
(第6図)。
(7) 両半体1a,1bの接合面2a,2bを接触
させて加圧する(第7図)。
このときの加圧力は2〜5Kg/cm2で、加圧時
間は約10〜50秒間である。
上記工程により両半体1a,1bは接合面2
a,2bにて溶着される。両半体1a,1bを成
形時の温度より極端に低くならない温度、すなわ
ち、塑性変形可能な温度のうちに第2工程で対向
設置する。
第5工程では、両半体1a,1bの接合面2
a,2bは熱板4からの輻射熱にて加熱される
が、両接合面2a,2bの表面は第2工程にて互
いに圧着されて平面修正されているので、熱板4
との対向間隔は接合面2a,2bの全面にわたっ
て同一になり、接合面2a,2bはこれの全面に
わたつて均一な温度になる。
従つてこの接合面2a,2bの溶融深さもまた
全面にわたつて均一になるから、この溶融深さは
浅くても第7工程における加圧溶着にて良好な溶
着が行なわれる。
また第5工程では、接合面2a,2bは熱板4
に接触せず、これの輻射熱にて加圧されるので、
この接合面2a,2bの表面が加熱によつて荒れ
ることがなく、この点においても第7工程での溶
着が良好に行なわれることになる。
なお第7工程では両半体1a,1bの接合位置
がずれないようにあらかじめ位置決めを行なう。
上記本発明方法にて接合した成形体の接合部の
引張強度テスト及び非破壊テストを以下の要領で
行なつた。
(1) 引張強度テスト 接合部を第8図に示すように、幅wが10mmの短
冊状に切断し、これを接合面が離れる方向に引張
つた。
その結果接合強度は、1.8Kg/mm2以上の数値と
なつた。
(2) 非破壊テスト 内部を密閉状にして内部を加圧したところ、3
気圧に耐えた。
なお上記実施態様では両半体1a,1bの接合
面2a,2bは互いに一平面上にした例で示した
が、これは第9図に示すように、両半体1a′,1
b′の接合面2a′,2b′は互いにメス、オスの関係
となつた段状あるいは曲面状としてもよい。この
場合、第2工程での押圧具3a,3b及び第5工
程での熱板4′の形状をこの接合面2a,2b′の
形状にあわせておく。
さらに両半体1a,1bは必ずしもフランジを
有してなくてもよい。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明によれば、両半体1a,1b,1a′,1
b′のそれぞれの接合面2a,2b,2a′,2
b′は、これの加熱溶融に先行して互いに押圧して
平面修正されること、及び、両接合面2a,2
b,2a′,2b′は熱板4,4′にて輻射加熱され
ることにより、それぞれの接合面2a,2b,2
a′,2b′はこれの全面にわたつて均一な深さで溶
融することができ、従つて両接合面2a,2b,
2a′,2b′は浅い溶融深さでもつて、しかもそれ
程大きな押圧力を加えることなしに強固に接合で
きる。そして溶融深さが浅いことにより、接合部
には溶融バリが発生することがなく、接合後の外
観形状を上記溶融バリによつて損なうことがな
い。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 熱可塑性樹脂にて成形した2つの半体1a,
    1b,1a′,1b′のそれぞれの接合面2a,2
    b,2a′,2b′を、成形温度より低い塑性変形可
    能な温度で互いに接触押圧して平面修正し、つい
    で、両接合面2a,2b,2a′,2b′に熱板4,
    4′を対向させて両接合面2a,2b,2a′,2
    b′を間接的加熱にて溶融し、その後熱板4,4′
    を取出して両半体1a,1b,1a′,1b′の接合
    面2a,2b,2a′,2b′を加圧溶着することを
    特徴とする熱可塑性樹脂成形体の溶着方法。
