Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 ［発明の目的］ （産業上の利用分野） 本発明は、光ディスク用のカートリッジに関するもので
ある。
（従来の技術） 一般に、光ディスクは汚れや、傷付きから保護するため
、カートリッジ化されている。
この光ディスクカートリッジはたとえば、第６図に分解
して示すように構成される。
すなわち、図中１２は合成樹脂材料で形成された上部ケ
ースで、１３は同じく合成樹脂材料で形成された下部ケ
ースである。
これら上、下部ケース１２．１３間には光ディスク１４
が回転自在に収納されている。
また、この上、下部ケース１２．１３には金属製のシャ
ッタ１５がスライド自在に取り付けられ、このシャッタ
１５は捩りばね１６によって一方向に付勢されている。
さらに、上記上、下部のケース１２１３には開口部１７
．１８が形成され、内側には縁部１９が形成されている
。
上記シャッタ１５は光ディスク不使用時には、捩りばね
１６によって付勢されて上記開口部１７゜１８を閉塞す
る。
ところで、光ディスクカートリッジは光ディスク１４が
回転したときに、光ディスク１４の面振れにより、光デ
ィスク１４とケース１３が接触しないように、第７図に
示すように、カートリッジ内部にクリアランス２０．２
１を確保する必要がある。
（発明が解決しようとする課題） しかしながら、カートリッジ内部にクリアランス２０．
２１を確保すると、光ディスクカートリッジの厚みは光
ディスク１４の厚みと、クリアランス２０．２１と、上
部および下部ケース１２．１３の厚みの合計になる。
このため、従来の光ディスクカートリッジでは、カート
リッジの厚みが大きくなり、光ディスク機器の小型化に
際し、大きな障害となっている。
そこで、本発明はカートリッジの厚み寸法を小とし、光
ディスク機器の小型化を可能とする光ディスクカートリ
ッジを提供することを目的とする。
［発明の構成］ （課題を解決するための手段） 本発明は上記課題を解決するため、片面のみに情報処理
面を有する光ディスク用のカートリッジにおいて、上記
光ディスクの情報処理面側のみをカバーするケースと、
上記光ディスクの不使用時には該光ディスクを上記ケー
スに保持し、前記光ディスクの使用時には該光ディスク
の保持を解除し光ディスク面とケースとの間にクリアラ
ンスを形成する保持手段とを具備してなることを特徴と
するものである。
（作　用） 光ディスクの情報処理面側のみをケースによりカバーす
ることにより、光ディスクの非情報記録面側のケースを
不要にしてそのケース分の厚さ減少させ、また、光ディ
スクの使用時には光ディスク面とケースとの間にクリア
ランスを形成することにより、先ディスク面とケースと
の間に予め、光ディスクの面ぶれを考慮したクリアラン
スを形成する必要がないようにした。
（実施例） 以下、本発明を第１図乃至第５図に示す一実施例を参照
して説明する。
図中１は光ディスクカートリッジのケースで、このケー
ス１の中央部には円形状の凹部２が形成されているとと
もに、情報処理用の開口部６が形成されている。前記凹
部２の外周部と中心部には縁部３，４が形成されている
。
また、上記ケース１にはシャッタ５がスライド自在に取
り付けられ、このシャッタ５は捩りばね７によって付勢
され、通常の状態では上記開口部、６を閉塞するように
なっている。上記シャッタ５の両端部には保持手段とし
てのフック部９．１０が形成されている。
上記先ディスク８は第２図に示すように、ケース１の凹
部２の内部に位置し、縁部３，４とフック部９．１０の
間に収納されている。
なお、上記光ディスク８はケース１側と対向する面が情
報記録面としての記録、再生面となっている。
しかして、上記光ディスクカートリッジを図示しない光
ディスク装置に挿入して使用すると、例えば、図示しな
いレバーによって第３図に示すように、シャッタ５が移
動されケース１の開口部６が開放される。これにより、
光ディスク８はシャッタ５のフック部９．１０から外れ
、光ディスク８の回転軸方向に解放される。
このためＪ例えば、光ディスク８を図示しないターンテ
ーブルにチャッキングし、ケース１を図示しないホルダ
によって第５図に示すように、押し下げることにより、
光ディスク８をケース１から離間させて回転させること
が可能となる。
この実施例によれば、光ディスク使用時に光ディスク８
をケース１から引き離すことができるので、光ディスク
８とケース１との間のクリアランス１１を従来に比べて
小さくすることができ、また、光ディスク８の記録、再
生面と反対側にケスがないため、大幅に薄型化できる利
点がある。
なお、フック部９．１０はシャッタ５と兼用でなくとも
良いことは勿論である。
また、フック部９．１０の移動は手動によって行えるよ
うにしても良い。
［発明の効果コ 本発明は以上説明したように、光ディスクの情報記録面
と反対側にケースがないばかりか、光ディスクとケース
の間のクリアランスを小さく設定できるので、光ディス
クカートリッジを大幅に薄型化できるという効果を奏す
る。

はカートリッジ化された光ディスクを示す斜視図、第３
図は光ディスクの使用時の状態を示す斜視図、第４図は

は光ディスクの使用時の状態を示す断面図、第６図は従
来の光ディスクカートリッジを示す分解斜視図、第７図
は従来の先ディスクカートリッジを示す断面図である。 １・・・ケース、５・・・シャッタ、７・・・捩りばね
、８・・・光ディスク。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 片面のみに情報記録面を有する光ディスク用のカートリ
    ッジにおいて、 上記光ディスクの情報記録面側のみをカバーするケース
    と、 上記ディスクを上記ケースに保持解除自在とする保持手
    段とを具備してなることを特徴とする光ディスクカート
    リッジ。
