Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 患者への気管切開処置の間、気管に開口が形成
されまた気管切開術チユーブがこの開口に配置さ
れる。一度チユーブが配置されると、体液はチユ
ーブのまわりの開口を通して患者の体の外に排出
する。吸収手段が患者の体の付近のチユーブの形
状に容易に適合しないので、従来は体液を捕足す
るための吸収手段を提供することは困難であつ
た。
この困難を克服する目的で、本発明は多層形態
に折畳まれた吸収材料のシートから成り、折畳ん
だシートの側縁部からシートの中央部に向かつて
延びかつ折畳んだシートの他側縁部から隔てられ
る内端部を有している第１のスリツト、及び第１
のスリツトの内端部から僅かに隔てられる位置で
第１のスリツトと交差する第２のスリツトを備
え、第２のスリツトの両端部は折畳んだシートの
側縁部から隔てられている、患者の体に気管切開
術チユーブを挿入した後前記チユーブのまわりに
配置される排液スポンジを提供するものである。
２つのスリツトはこうしてそれらの接合部で４つ
のフラツプを限定する。
スポンジが作られる吸収材料は不識材料である
のが望ましい。使用時にスポンジは、第１のスリ
ツトを通して気管切開術チユーブを２つのスリツ
トの接合部に通すことによりこのチユーブの突出
部のまわりに配置することができ、このときフラ
ツプはスポンジを適所に配置するためチユーブに
対してもたれている。
本発明は図を参照して以下詳細に説明される。
第３図に示される排液スポンジ１０は周縁部１
４ａ，１４ｂ，１４ｃ及び１４ｄを有している吸
収材料のシート１２（第１図）から形成される。
このシート１２は、アメリカ合衆国、マサチユー
セツツ州、ボストン在のザ・ケンドール・カムパ
ニー（The Kendall Company）によりマイクレ
ツクスド・ノヴオネツト（micrexed
Novonette）SP117として販売されるようなポリ
エステル・レーヨンの不識材料から製造し得る。
スポンジを形成するため、シート１２は先づ中央
縦折曲線１６に沿つて折畳まれ、次に第２図の中
央折曲線１８に沿つて横に折畳まれる。第３図に
示すように、折畳まれたシート１２はスポンジ１
０の側縁部２０ａ，２０ｂ，２０ｃ及び２０ｄを
有し、側縁部２０ａは折曲線１８に沿つて延びて
いる。
スポンジは次に折曲線１８から折畳んだシート
の中央部に向かつて内側に延びている第１のスリ
ツト２２に沿つて切込まれ、第１のスリツト２２
の内端部２４は折畳んだシート１２の側縁部から
実質的な距離隔てられ、また更にスリツト２２の
内端部２４から僅かに隔てた位置でスリツト２２
と交差している第２のスリツト２６に沿つて切込
まれる。図に示すように、第２のスリツト２６の
対向する端部２８と３０は折畳んだシート１２の
側縁部から実質的な距離隔てられる。示される望
ましい形態では、スリツト２２の反対側でスリツ
ト２６の部分の長さは２つのスリツト２２と２６
の接合部とスリツト２２の内端部２４との間のス
リツト２２の部分の長さにほぼ等しく、またほぼ
４分の１インチであり得る。図示されるように、
スリツト２２と２６はそれらの接合部で折畳んだ
シート１２の４つのフラツプ３２ａ，３２ｂ，３
２ｃ及び３２ｄを限定する。
第４図に示すように、気管切開処置の間、開口
が患者Ｐの気管に形成され、また気管切開術チユ
ーブＴがこの開口に配置される。スポンジ１０は
折曲線１８からスリツト２２と２６の接合部にス
リツト２２をチユーブＴに沿つて摺動することに
よりチユーブＴの突出している部分のまわりに配
置される。こうしてスポンジ１０が患者の体に配
置されたフラツプ３２ａ，３２ｂ，３２ｃ及び３
２ｄがチユーブＴにもたれた状態で、スポンジ１
０はチユーブＴのまわりに延びる。スポンジ１０
はこうして患者の体のチユーブＴの形状に容易に
適合し、チユーブのまわりの体の開口を通して患
者の体外に流れ出る体液を吸収する。スポンジ１
０の材料は患者の体に粘着せず、また使用後、ス
ポンジはチユーブＴから容易に取外されて廃棄さ
れる。

第１図と第２図は本発明による排液スポンジを
形成する工程を示している斜視図、第３図は完成
したスポンジの斜視図及び第４図は患者の気管切
開術チユーブのまわりに配置した状態のスポンジ

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １ 多層形態に折畳まれた吸収材料のシートから
    成り、折畳んだシートの側縁部からシートの中央
    部に向かつて延びかつ折畳んだシートの他側縁部
    から隔てられる内端部を有している第１のスリツ
    ト、及び第１のスリツトの内端部から僅かに隔て
    られる位置で第１のスリツトと交差する第２のス
    リツトを備え、第２のスリツトの両端部は折畳ん
    だシートの側縁部から隔てられている、患者の体
    に気管切開術チユーブを挿入した後前記チユーブ
    のまわりに配置される排液スポンジ。 ２ 第１のスリツトと向かい合う側の第２のスリ
    ツトの部分の長さが両スリツトの接合部とその内
    端部との間の第１のスリツトの部分の長さとほぼ
    等しい特許請求の範囲第１項に記載のスポンジ。 ３ 第１のスリツトが折畳んだシートの折曲線か
    ら内側に延びる特許請求の範囲第１項に記載のス
    ポンジ。 ４ 吸収材料が不識材料である特許請求の範囲第
