塑性樹脂層と一体的に形成された非架橋熱可塑性樹脂層
と、この非架橋熱可塑性樹脂層の内部、外表面、または
内表面に設けられた電熱線と、前記架橋熱可塑性樹脂層
の他端部側の内側に挿入して固着された接続部材とを有
する接続部材付エレクトロフュージョン継手。

橋熱可塑性樹脂層とは隣接して一体化している。架橋熱
可塑性樹脂は融着性を有しないため、架橋後の架橋熱可
塑性樹脂と非架橋熱可塑性樹脂を押出成形、射出成形等
により成形しても、それぞれの層は分離して一体化しな
いが、未架橋の架橋性熱可塑性樹脂と非架橋熱可塑性樹
脂とを加熱成形して一体化し、その後架橋性熱可塑性樹
脂を架橋させると、架橋熱可塑性樹脂と非架橋熱可塑性
樹脂が一体化した積層体が得られる。本発明ではこのよ
うに架橋熱可塑性樹脂層と非架橋熱可塑性樹脂層が一体
化した積層体を使用する。
立体構造となったものであり、シラン架橋熱可塑性樹脂
、ジビニルベンゼン架橋熱可塑性樹脂などの架橋剤によ
り架橋したもののほか、有機過酸化物、放射線等により
直接架橋したものでもよい。
れている架橋性を有しないポリオレフィン等の熱可塑性
樹脂である。
、具体的にはポリオレフィンを例示でき、ポリオレフィ
ンとしては、炭素数2〜20、好ましくは2〜12のα
−オレフィンの単独または共重合体があげられる。好ま
しいα−オレフィンとしては、エチレン、プロピレン、
ブテン−1,4−メチルペンテン−1などがあげられる
。
に有する金属管などが使用できる。接続部材と架橋熱可
塑性樹脂層との固着は、変性熱可塑性樹脂等の接着性材
料により接着するのが好ましい。接着性材料は接続部材
と架橋熱可塑性樹脂層との間に介在させるのが好ましい
が、架橋熱可塑性樹脂層に分散していてもよい。
酸、マレイン酸などの不飽和カルボン酸;無水マレイン
酸などの不飽和カルボン酸無水物;不飽和カルボン酸の
アミド;クリシジルメタタリレートなどの不飽和エポキ
シド等の変性千ツマ−でグラフト共重合することによっ
て変性したものがある。変性熱可塑性樹脂中の変性モノ
マーの含有量は変性熱可塑性樹脂に対し0.001ない
し5重量%の範囲であることが望ましい。
部、外表面、または内表面に電熱線を配置した非架橋熱
可塑性樹脂層と、変性熱可塑性樹脂等の接着性材料をコ
ーティングした接続部材とを射出成形型内にインサー1
− した状態で、架橋性熱可塑性樹脂を射出して積層一
体止した後、架橋性熱可塑性樹脂層を架橋させて架橋熱
可塑性樹脂層を形成することにより製造される。この場
合、接着性材料は接続部材にコーティングせず、射出す
る架橋性熱可塑性樹脂中に分散させておいてもよい。
管ヘッダーのノズル等の接続端末に接続部材を接続し、
熱可塑性樹脂チューブ等の被接続体を非架橋熱可塑性樹
脂層と接するように取付け、電熱線に通電すると、非架
橋熱可塑性樹脂層が溶融して被接続体に一体的に融着す
る。これにより金属製の接続端末と樹脂製の被接続体と
を、漏洩防止状態で確実に接続することができる。
相溶性を有する樹脂からなるものが好ましく、非架橋の
熱可塑性樹脂からなるものは特に優れた融着性を示す。

架橋ポリオレフィン層2と、この架橋ポリオレフィン層
2の内側の被接続体5に接する位置に、架橋ポリオレフ
ィン/1v72と一体的に形成された非架橋ポリオレフ
ィン層3と、この非架橋ポリオレフィン層3内、外表面
または内表面に設けられた電熱線4と、架橋ポリオレフ
ィン層2の他端部側の内側に挿入して固着された接続部
材6と、この接続部材6の挿入部6aと架橋ポリオレフ
ィン層2の間に介在する接着性材料としての変性ポリオ
レフィン層7とを有する。
管からなり、全体が融着性の熱可塑性樹脂からなるもの
でもよいが、架橋ポリオレフィン等の耐熱性材料を用い
る場合は、外表面を融着性の熱可塑性樹脂で被覆したも
のを用いる。架橋ポリオレフィン層2は被接続体5と接
続部材6の挿入部6aの突合せ部8付近を全周にわたっ
て覆う管状の構造であり、その長手方向の一端部側の被
接続体5に対応する部分の内周に非架橋ポリオレフィン
層3が積層され、第1図ではその中に電熱線4が埋設さ
れ、第2図ではその外表面に、また第3図では内表面に
埋設されている。
出部6bには接続部としてのねじ部9が形成され、中間
部には六角形のスパナ掛け10が形成されている。変性
ポリオレフィンJii!7は接続部材6の挿入部6aと
架橋ポリオレフィン層2間の全周にわたって介在し両者
を接着している。
面または内表面に電熱線4を埋設または巻き付けた非架
橋ポリオレフィンM3と、外表面に変性ポリオレフィン
層7をコーティングした接続部材6の挿入部6aとを射
出成形型内にインサートした状態で、ポリオレフィン中
に架橋剤、架橋助剤等を含む架橋性ポリオレフィンを射
出して積層一体止した後、上記架橋性ポリオレフィン層
を架橋させて架橋ポリオレフィンM2を形成することに
より製造される。
導管八ツグーのノズル等の接続端末に接続部材6の突出
部6bのねじ部9をねじ込んで接続する。そしてポリオ
レフィンチューブ等の被接続体5を非架橋ポリオレフィ
ンM3の内側に挿入して接続部材6の挿入部6aに突合
せ、電熱線4に通電すると、非架橋ポリオレフィン層3
が溶融して被接続体5に融着して一体化する。
ポリオレフィン層2が耐熱強度を負担するので、給湯管
等の接続に用いても形状保持性に優れる。一方架橋ポリ
オレフィン層2が接続部材6および非架橋ポリオレフィ
ン層3と一体化した状態で、非架橋ポリオレフィン層3
が被接続体5に融着して一体化するため、シール性に優
れ、給湯管に用いても長期にわたってシール性を保持す
る。
9aにより架橋ポリオレフィン層2に固着され、突出部
6bにはフランジ部6cが形成されており、ソケッ1−
11によりノズル等の接続端末に接続するようになって
いる。
おり、その先端部に接続部材6の挿入部6aがねじ部9
aにより固着されている。接続部材6の突出部6bはソ
ケッ1−になっており、ノズル等の接続端末に接続する
ようになっている。
オレフィン層7を別に形成したが、変性ポリオレフィン
は架橋ポリオレフィンN2中に分散させてもよい。また
架橋ポリオレフィンN2、非架橋ポリオレフィン層3の
形状、構造等は図示のものに限定されず、変更可能であ
る。電熱線4を非架橋ポリオレフィン層3の外表面また
は内表面に設ける場合には、非架橋ポリオレフィン層3
または被接続体5に巻き付けてもよい。
非架橋熱可塑性樹脂を一体化し、非架橋熱可塑性樹脂層
の内部、外表面または内表面に電熱線を設けたので、耐
熱強度等の高温性能およびシール性に俸れ、かつ取付作
業等の作業性にも優れたエレクトロフュージョン継手が
得られる。
橋ポリオレフィン層、3は非架橋ポリオレフィン層、4
は電熱線、5は被接続体、6は接続部材、7は変性ポリ
オレフィン層である。
Claims (2)
- (1)架橋熱可塑性樹脂層と、この架橋熱可塑性樹脂層
の一端部側の内側の被接続体に接する位置に、架橋熱可
塑性樹脂層と一体的に形成された非架橋熱可塑性樹脂層
と、この非架橋熱可塑性樹脂層の内部、外表面、または
内表面に設けられた電熱線と、前記架橋熱可塑性樹脂層
の他端部側の内側に挿入して固着された接続部材とを有
する接続部材付エレクトロフュージョン継手。 - (2)架橋熱可塑性樹脂層は変性熱可塑性樹脂により接
続部材に接着された請求項(1)記載の接続部材付エレ
クトロフュージョン継手。
