Description
繊維を含む第1層と、繊維を含む第2層と、前記第1層と前記第2層との間に設けられ吸水性樹脂を含む第3層と、を有する小片を複数備え、
前記小片は、互いに表裏の関係を有する2つの主面を有し、前記主面の面積をa[mm 2 ]とし、前記主面の法線方向における厚さをb[mm]としたとき、5.0<a 1/2 /b≦10.0および0.10≦b≦8.0の関係を満たし、
前記小片の前記主面でとり得る最も長い線分を長軸とするとき、前記長軸の長さは、0.5mm以上30mm以下であり、
前記吸水性樹脂は、JIS K 7120:1987に規定のプラスチックの熱重量測定方法に従い、試料量が5mg以上15mg以下、昇温速度が10.0℃/分、測定雰囲気が窒素という測定条件で測定されたTG曲線において、初期重量に対する400℃における重量減少量の比率が0.050以上0.500未満である。
前記液体吸収体を収納する容器と、
を備えることを特徴とする。
本発明のインク吸収器が前記回収部に設置されていることを特徴とする。
なお、以下では、説明の都合上、図2中の上側を「上」または「上方」、下側を「下」または「下方」と言う。
液体吸収体10Aでは、小片集合体10に液体が付与されたとき、小片1と液体とが接触する頻度を多く確保することができるとともに、小片1と液体との接触面積を多く確保することができる。このため、小片1に接触した液体は、一旦、第1層11および第2層12に含まれた繊維に保持される。その後、この液体は、繊維から吸水性樹脂3に送り込まれ、吸水性樹脂3に保持されるため、小片集合体10全体としての液体の吸収特性を向上させることができる。
第1層11および第2層12は、それぞれ繊維を含む層状の構造体であり、例えば多孔質である。このため、吸水性樹脂3を好適に担持させることができ、担持された吸水性樹脂3は、脱落しにくくなる。また、表面積が大きいため、小片1に液体が付与された場合、この液体は一旦繊維に保持された後、吸水性樹脂3に移行するため、小片1全体としての液体吸収特性の向上が図られやすい。

図4ないし図7は、それぞれ図1および図2に示す小片を製造する方法の一例を説明するための図である。
加水作業は、例えば霧吹き装置等を用いて行うことができる。
(実施例1)
[1]液体吸収体の製造
まず、シート状の繊維基材として、縦30cm、横22cm、厚さ0.5mmの紙であるトッパン・フォームズ株式会社製G80A4Wを用意した。この紙に含まれる繊維の平均長さは0.71mm、平均幅は0.2mm、平均長さ/平均幅で定義されるアスペクト比は3.56であった。また、紙の重さは4g/1枚であった。また、紙には、トナーによる印字がなされていないものを使用した。
次いで、側鎖に酸基としてのカルボキシル基を有する吸水性樹脂であるポリアクリル酸重合架橋体の部分ナトリウム塩架橋物として、三洋化成工業株式会社製サンフレッシュ ST-500MPSAを、紙の水を吹きかけた面側から付与した。この際、吸水性樹脂を、目開き寸法が0.106mmの網目を有するふるい、具体的には東京スクリーン株式会社製、JTS-200-45-106にかけながら付与した。吸水性樹脂の塗布量は4gであった。
繊維の合計重量に対する吸水性樹脂の合計重量の比率を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
紙として、トナーによる印字が全面になされているものを使用した以外は、実施例2と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
繊維の合計重量に対する吸水性樹脂の合計重量の比率を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
紙として、トナーによる印字が全面になされているものを使用した以外は、実施例4と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
繊維の合計重量に対する吸水性樹脂の合計重量の比率を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
紙として、トナーによる印字が全面になされているものを使用した以外は、実施例2と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
繊維の合計重量に対する吸水性樹脂の合計重量の比率を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
小片の形状を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
小片の条件を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
小片の条件を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
小片として、繊維基材を2層用いた構造ではなく、繊維基材を1層のみ用いた構造のものを使用するとともに、小片の条件を表1に示すように変更した以外は、前記実施例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。
比較例1で用いたのと同様の吸水性樹脂に加え、難燃性物質としてリン酸アンモニウムを添加した以外は、前記比較例1と同様にして液体吸収体を製造した。なお、難燃性物質の使用量は、小片の10質量%とした。
[2-1]吸水性樹脂の脱落の有無
まず、アズワン株式会社製のニューディスポカップ 100mLのプラスチックの容器を複数個用意し、前記各実施例および前記各比較例で製造した液体吸収体2.0gを、それぞれ異なる容器に入れた。
B:吸水性樹脂の脱落が少数ある
C:吸水性樹脂の脱落が多数ある
評価結果を表1に示す。
次に、[2-1]のようにして液体吸収体を容器に収容した後、その容器に対し、市販のインクジェット用インクであるセイコーエプソン株式会社製ICBK-61を25cc注いだ。そして、注ぎきってから2分後および5分後に容器内を目視で観察し、以下の基準に照らして評価した。
B:液体吸収体の表面にインクが部分的に滲んでいるが、ほとんどのインクを吸収し、インクの溜りが見られない
C:液体吸収体の表面にインクが部分的に滲んでおり、若干インクの溜りが見られる
D:液体吸収体の表面にインクの溜りが見られる
評価結果を表1に示す
まず、[1]で折り曲げた状態にした紙から、幅13mm×125mmの試験片を切り出した。この試験片は、サイズ以外、前述した各実施例および各比較例の小片と同様である。
B:燃焼速度が65mm/分超70mm/分以下である
C:燃焼速度が70mm/分超75mm/分以下である
D:燃焼速度が75mm/分超である
評価結果を表1に示す。

- 繊維を含む第1層と、繊維を含む第2層と、前記第1層と前記第2層との間に設けられ吸水性樹脂を含む第3層と、を有する小片を複数備え、
前記小片は、互いに表裏の関係を有する2つの主面を有し、前記主面の面積をa[mm 2 ]とし、前記主面の法線方向における厚さをb[mm]としたとき、5.0<a 1/2 /b≦10.0および0.10≦b≦8.0の関係を満たし、
前記小片の前記主面でとり得る最も長い線分を長軸とするとき、前記長軸の長さは、0.5mm以上30mm以下であり、
前記吸水性樹脂は、JIS K 7120:1987に規定のプラスチックの熱重量測定方法に従い、試料量が5mg以上15mg以下、昇温速度が10.0℃/分、測定雰囲気が窒素という測定条件で測定されたTG曲線において、初期重量に対する400℃における重量減少量の比率が0.050以上0.500未満であることを特徴とする液体吸収体。 - 前記吸水性樹脂は、前記TG曲線において、初期重量に対する200℃における重量減少量の比率が0.001以上0.080未満である請求項1に記載の液体吸収体。
- 前記繊維の合計重量に対する前記吸水性樹脂の合計重量の比率が0.15以上1.20以下である請求項1または2に記載の液体吸収体。
- 前記繊維は、セルロース繊維である請求項1ないし3のいずれか1項に記載の液体吸収体。
- 複数の前記小片は、液体を吸収する前のかさ密度が0.01g/cm 3 以上0.5g/cm 3 以下である請求項1ないし4のいずれか1項に記載の液体吸収体。
- 前記吸水性樹脂の少なくとも一部は、前記第1層または前記第2層に含浸している請求項1ないし5のいずれか1項に記載の液体吸収体。
- 請求項1ないし6のいずれか1項に記載の液体吸収体と、
前記液体吸収体を収納する容器と、
を備えることを特徴とするインク吸収器。 - インクの廃液を回収する回収部を備え、
請求項7に記載のインク吸収器が前記回収部に設置されていることを特徴とする液滴吐出装置。
