Description
図1は、実施形態に関わる還元反応用電極100を示す。還元反応用電極100に電圧が印加されると、基板10に生じた電子がカーボン層12を介して錯体触媒層14に渡され、錯体触媒層14における還元触媒反応に利用される。図1では、二酸化炭素(CO2)がギ酸(HCOOH)に還元される態様が示されている。
酸化反応用電極102は、酸化反応によって物質を酸化するために利用される電極である。酸化反応用電極102は、基板、透明導電層、集電配線及び酸化触媒を含んで構成される。
本実施の形態における電気化学セルは、図2に示すように、還元反応用電極100と酸化反応用電極102を組み合わせて構成される。還元反応用電極100と酸化反応用電極102を還元触媒及び酸化触媒が対向するように配置し、その間に反応物が溶解された電解液104を導入させる。反応物は、炭化化合物とすることができ、例えば、二酸化炭素(CO2)とすることができる。また、電解液は、リン酸緩衝水溶液やホウ酸緩衝水溶液とすることが好適である。具体的な構成例では、二酸化炭素(CO2)飽和リン酸緩衝液のタンクを設け、ポンプによって当該液を還元反応用電極100と酸化反応用電極102との間に設けられた間隙に供給し、還元反応によって生じたギ酸(HCOOH)や酸素(O2)を外部の燃料タンクに回収する。
錫(Sn)からなる基板10に銅(Cu)のリード線16をインジウム(In)を半田鏝で溶かして接点部18を形成した。この場合、基板10とリード線16との間の抵抗は1Ω以下であった。
ステンレス(SUS)板の全面に1μm厚の錫(Sn)をメッキした基板10にメッキ銅線のリード線16を錫(Sn)-ビスマス(Bi)の合金を半田鏝で溶かして接点部18を形成した。この場合、基板10とリード線16との間の抵抗は1Ω以下であった。
ステンレス(SUS)板の全面に1μm厚の錫(Sn)をメッキした基板10にメッキ銅線のリード線16をインジウム(In)-錫(Sn)の合金を半田鏝で溶かして接点部18を形成した。この場合、基板10とリード線16との間の抵抗は1Ω以下であった。
ステンレス(SUS)板の全面に1μm厚の錫(Sn)をメッキして基板10とし、その表面上にカーボン導電性接着剤によりカーボンナノチューブを含浸させ、さらにルテニウム錯体を含む分子を設けたカーボンシートを接合して還元反応用電極100を形成した。その後、銅(Cu)のリード線16をインジウム(In)を用いて半田鏝で溶かして接点部18を形成した。
錫(Sn)からなる基板10に銅(Cu)のリード線16を銀(Ag)ペーストで接合して接点部を形成した。室温下において1日放置した後、基板10とリード線16との間の抵抗をテスターで測定したところ抵抗値が大きすぎて測定不可能であった。

- 錫を含有する表面を備えた基板と、
前記表面に接合された金属を含むリード線と、
を備え、
前記リード線と前記表面との接合部が、錫及びビスマスの少なくとも1つを含み、有機成分及び銀を含まないことを特徴とする二酸化炭素の還元に用いられる化学反応用電極。 - 請求項1に記載の化学反応用電極であって、
前記リード線は、銅(Cu)を含むことを特徴とする化学反応用電極。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の化学反応用電極を含み、
前記化学反応用電極に触れる弱酸性の電解質液を備え、
炭素化合物を生成することを特徴とする電気化学セル。
