Description
図1は本実施形態の光波長合分波器の構成を示す図である。本実施形態の光波長合分波器は、波長数(チャネル数)がN、チャネル周波数間隔Δf(GHz)の多重光信号を波長λNごとの光信号に分波するものとして説明する。本実施形態の光波長合分波器1は、図1に示すように、第1の入出力導波路10と、第1のスラブ導波路20と、アレイ導波路30と、第2のスラブ導波路40と、第2の入出力導波路50とを備えた、いわゆるAWGにより構成される。第1の入出力導波路は、2つの入出力12、13に分岐されており、2つの入出力12、13は2つのパラボラ導波路14、15を介して第1のスラブ導波路20の所定の位置に接続している。また、第2の入出力導波路50は2つの導波路群51、52により構成されており、2つの導波路群51、52は第2のスラブ導波路40の所定の位置に接続している。第2のスラブ導波路40に接続する部分の第2の入出力導波路50は直線導波路であるが、図4(b)の従来構造の例のようにテーパー導波路でも良い。
第1の実施形態の説明では、入力導波路の2つの入力と第1のスラブ導波路との間にパラボラ導波路を設けた構成について説明した。しかしながら、このパラボラ導波路を設けず、入力導波路の2つの入力と第1のスラブ導波路とを直接接続した構成としてもよい。

Claims (3)
- チャネル数N、チャネル周波数間隔Δfの多重光信号を波長λNごとの光信号に分波する光波長合分波器であって、
入力された多重光信号を2つの入力に分岐して、それぞれを2つの導波路から出力する入力導波路と、
前記2つの導波路の他端に一端が接続された第1のスラブ導波路と、
前記第1のスラブ導波路の他端に接続され、所定間隔で長さが異なる導波路長の複数の導波路を有するアレイ導波路と、
前記アレイ導波路に一端が接続された第2のスラブ導波路と、
前記第2のスラブ導波路の他端に接続されたそれぞれ複数の導波路を含む2つの導波路群を有する出力導波路とを備え、
前記2つの導波路のうちの一方の導波路の前記第1のスラブ導波路との接続位置は前記第1のスラブ導波路の接続端面における中心位置から外周側に所定の離間間隔(ΔW)GHzずれた位置に、他方の導波路の前記第1のスラブ導波路との接続位置は前記一方の導波路とは反対側に所定の間隔(ΔW+Δf)GHzずれた位置に配置されると共に、前記出力導波路の2つの導波路群の間の中心位置が第2のスラブ導波路の中心位置と一致するように前記2つの導波路群が配置され、
前記他方の導波路の前記第1のスラブ導波路との接続位置と該第1のスラブ導波路の接続端面における中心位置との間隔は、前記導波路群の前記第2のスラブ導波路との接続位置と該第2のスラブ導波路の接続端面における中心位置との間隔と等しく設定され、前記2つの導波路群のそれぞれにおいて隣接する導波路の間の間隔は、前記チャネル周波数間隔の2倍に設定されることを特徴とする光波長合分波器。 - 前記2つの導波路は、パラボラ導波路であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の光波長合分波器。
- 前記アレイ導波路の複数の導波路は扇型の円周に沿って複数並列するように配置され、前記2つの入力のうちの一方の入力は、前記扇型の内周側に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の光波長合分波器。
