Description
本出願は、各々の内容全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる、2018年2月27日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/635,993号、2018年5月29日に出願された米国特許出願第15/991,873号、および2019年2月26日に出願された米国特許出願第16/286,545号に対する優先権を主張する。
疎水性フッ素化溶媒と、
疎水性フッ素化ポリマーを含む結合剤と、
疎水性ヒュームドシリカナノ粒子と、
任意選択で、疎水性エアロゲルナノ粒子と、を含む、組成物を提供する。
(a)疎水性フッ素化溶媒、疎水性フッ素化ポリマーを含む結合剤、ヒュームドシリカナノ粒子、および任意選択で、疎水性エアロゲルナノ粒子を組み合わせることと、
(b)組み合わせを混合することと、
(c)混合物を乾燥させて組成物を提供することと、を伴う。
非晶質フルオロポリマー結合剤を、フッ素化溶媒中に溶解する。疎水性ヒュームドシリカナノ粒子を添加する。任意選択で、疎水性エアロゲルナノ粒子を添加する。混合物を音波プローブで混合して、疎水性ヒュームドシリカ粒子および疎水性エアロゲル粒子の集塊を破壊し、乾燥させて所望の材料を提供する。表1は、例示的な組成物および組成物の重量パーセントとしての各成分の量を列挙している。
疎水性シランを微量の水とイソプロピルアルコールまたはアセトンとの混合物に添加して、1体積%のシラン溶液を提供する。任意選択でプラズマエッチングされたガラスウエハーを溶液に浸漬し、次に、空気乾燥してからオーブンにて約100℃で約15~20分間加熱し、シラン官能化表面を提供する。
フッ素化溶媒中の2重量%のフルオロポリマー結合剤および架橋シランのコーティング溶液を、プラズマエッチングされたガラスウエハー上にスピンコーティングして、150~450nmのコーティングを提供する。コーティングされたウエハーを空気乾燥してから、オーブンにて約150℃で約60分間加熱して、架橋コーティング層を提供する。
フルオロポリマー結合剤の層を、物理蒸着(PVD)を使用して、任意選択によりプラズマエッチングされたガラスウエハー上に堆積させる。堆積に続いて、実施例2または3によるナノ粒子コーティング溶液を、コーティングされたウエハー上に噴霧して、コーティング層に部分的に埋め込まれたナノ粒子を提供する。ウエハーを空気乾燥し、次に、オーブンにて150~200℃で60分間加熱する。
実施例2のコーティングされたウエハーを、長期間にわたって模擬降雨および風に曝した。部分的に埋め込まれたナノ粒子の一部分がコーティングから変位し、結果として、残りの部分的に埋め込まれたナノ粒子およびナノスケールの窪みを含む表面になる(図2を参照)。風化後の表面は、依然として超疎水性であり、水接触角は約135°である。
Claims (17)
- 基材をコーティングするための方法であって、
表面を有する基材を提供することと、
コーティング組成物を前記表面に隣接して配置することであって、前記組成物が、
疎水性フッ素化溶媒、
疎水性フッ素化ポリマーを含む結合剤、
疎水性ヒュームドシリカナノ粒子、および
疎水性エアロゲルナノ粒子を含む、配置することと、
前記フッ素化溶媒を蒸発させることと、を含む、方法。 - 前記結合剤が、前記組成物の0.3重量%~1.5重量%の範囲内の量で存在し、
前記シリカナノ粒子が、前記組成物の0.01重量%~0.5重量%の範囲内の量で存在し、
前記エアロゲルナノ粒子が、前記組成物の0.1重量%~0.5重量%の範囲内の量で存在する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記シリカナノ粒子およびエアロゲルナノ粒子の平均サイズが、10nm~200nmの範囲内である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 基材をコーティングするための方法であって、
表面を有する基材を提供することと、
コーティング組成物を前記表面に隣接して配置することであって、前記組成物が、
疎水性フッ素化溶媒、
疎水性フッ素化ポリマーを含む結合剤、
疎水性ヒュームドシリカナノ粒子、および
架橋シランを含む、配置することと、
前記フッ素化溶媒を蒸発させることと、を含む、方法。 - 前記配置されたコーティング組成物を硬化させることをさらに含む、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記コーティング組成物を配置する前に、前記基材表面をプラズマエッチングすることをさらに含む、請求項1または4に記載の方法。
- 前記コーティング組成物を配置する前に、前記基材表面の少なくとも一部分上にシランを堆積させることをさらに含む、請求項1または4に記載の方法。
- 請求項1または4に記載の方法でコーティングされた基材。
- コーティング層を含む物品であって、前記コーティング層が、内側表面および反対側の外側表面を有し、前記内側表面が、基材表面に隣接して配置され、前記コーティング層が、疎水性フッ素化ポリマーおよび複数のナノ粒子を含み、前記ナノ粒子が、シリカナノ粒子およびエアロゲルナノ粒子を含み、前記ナノ粒子の少なくとも一部分が、前記コーティング層の前記外側表面上に部分的に露出している、物品。
- 前記ナノ粒子の平均サイズが、10nm~200nmの範囲内である、請求項9に記載の物品。
- コーティング層を含む物品であって、前記コーティング層が、内側表面および反対側の外側表面を有し、前記内側表面が、基材表面に隣接して配置され、前記コーティング層が、疎水性フッ素化ポリマー、複数のナノ粒子および架橋シランを含み、前記ナノ粒子の少なくとも一部分が、前記コーティング層の前記外側表面上に部分的に露出している、物品。
- 前記外側表面が、複数の窪みをさらに含む、請求項9または11に記載の物品。
- 前記窪みの平均サイズが、10nm~200nmの範囲内である、請求項12に記載の物品。
- 前記基材表面が、複数のヒドロキシル基を含む、請求項9または11に記載の物品。
- 前記基材表面が、シランを含む、請求項9または11に記載の物品。
- 前記外側表面が、少なくとも130°の水接触角を有する、請求項9または11に記載の物品。
- 前記外側表面が、少なくとも150°の水接触角を有する、請求項9または11に記載の物品。
