7xxx系アルミニウム合金を鋳造し、溶体化熱処理用に調製する。アルミニウム合金が約450℃の温度に達するまで、アルミニウム合金を炉に通すことにより、アルミニウム合金を溶体化処理する。温度は、450℃から固相線温度まで0.5~120分間保持する。様々な7xxx系アルミニウム合金に関する固相線温度の例としては、約470~約650℃が挙げられる。溶体化処理プロセスに続いて、アルミニウム合金を次のようにクエンチする。
7xxx系アルミニウム合金を鋳造し、溶体化熱処理用に調製する。アルミニウム合金が約450℃の温度に達するまで、アルミニウム合金を炉に通すことにより、アルミニウム合金を溶体化処理する。温度は、450℃から固相線温度まで0.5~120分間保持する。溶体化処理プロセスに続いて、アルミニウム合金を次のようにクエンチする。
6111系アルミニウム合金のバリエーションの試料を反応性クエンチング用に準備した。最初に、アルミニウム合金を、鋳造し、シートに圧延した。冷間圧延後、シートは、約2mmのゲージを有していた。その試料を、反応性クエンチングの準備としてヘキサンで処理することにより脱脂した。1つの試料は、準備したままの脱脂ミル仕上げ状態で保持し、加熱およびクエンチングは行なわなかった。他の試料は、反応性クエンチングプロセスに供し、アルミニウム合金製品の試料は、約300℃に保たれた炉に試料を置くことによって、約7分間にわたって周囲温度から約300℃まで最初に加熱した。

Claims (15)
- 金属を処理する方法であって、
金属を第1の温度まで加熱することと、
前記金属を、反応性溶質を含む溶液にさらすことと、を含み、
前記金属が、アルミニウム合金であり、
前記溶液が、水を含むものであり、
前記反応性溶質が、1つ以上のクロム塩を含むものであり、
前記第1の温度が、300℃以上であり、
前記金属を前記溶液にさらすことにより、300℃/秒~2000℃/秒の冷却速度で、25℃~500℃の温度まで前記金属を冷却し、前記金属を前記溶液にさらすことにより、前記反応性溶質を伴う化学反応を開始させ、前記化学反応が前記金属の表面を改質する、方法。 - 前記溶液が、1つ以上のアルカリ金属塩、アルカリ土類金属塩、アンモニウム塩、硫酸塩、硝酸塩、ホウ酸塩、リン酸塩、酢酸塩、または炭酸塩を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
