Claims (34)
- 塞栓マイクロカテーテルであって、
その近位端で懸濁液リザーバに接続可能であり、懸濁液中に懸濁された粒子の懸濁液をその中に通過させるように構成された細長いマイクロカテーテル本体と、
前記マイクロカテーテル本体の遠位端に接続され、近位ヘッド部および遠位ヘッド部を備えるマイクロカテーテルヘッドとを備え、
前記近位ヘッド部は、近位部管腔を形成する近位壁を含み、前記近位壁は、複数の貫通孔を含み、
前記複数の貫通孔は、50ミクロン〜100ミクロンの範囲の幅と200ミクロン〜800ミクロンの範囲の長さとを有するスリットを含むことにより、前記懸濁液の一部を通過させることと前記粒子の通過を阻止することを可能とし、
前記遠位ヘッド部は、遠位部管腔を形成する遠位壁と、前記遠位ヘッド部の遠位端にある懸濁液送達開口部とを含み、
前記遠位ヘッド部は、前記貫通孔を備えず、
前記複数の貫通孔の間隔は、前記マイクロカテーテルのねじれを回避しながら、少なくとも0.5mmの曲げ半径を可能にするように設定されている、塞栓マイクロカテーテル。 - 前記複数の貫通孔の各々が、15ミクロンと700ミクロンとの間の範囲の最小断面寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔のうちの少なくとも1つが、50ミクロン以下の最小断面寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔のそれぞれが、15ミクロンと40ミクロンの間の範囲、または40ミクロンと100ミクロンの間の範囲、または100ミクロンと700ミクロンの間の範囲の最小断面寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔のうちの少なくとも1つが、25ミクロン以上の最小断面寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位部管腔の最小直径が、前記遠位部管腔の最大直径に等しいかまたはそれより大きい、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記遠位部管腔の少なくとも一部が、前記近位部管腔よりも小さい直径を有する狭窄部分である、請求項6に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記狭窄部分の直径が1mmから20mmであり、
前記狭窄部分は、前記近位ヘッド部と前記遠位ヘッド部の一端に配置されたヘッドチップの間で、前記遠位部管腔の全長の少なくとも一部に延びる、請求項7に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。 - 前記マイクロカテーテルヘッドの長さが5mmと30mmとの間である、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記マイクロカテーテルヘッドの長さが10mmと15mmとの間である、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記マイクロカテーテルヘッドの最大外径が5mm以下である、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔の各々が、前記粒子の最小直径よりも小さい幅を有する、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔は、スリットパターンの形態で前記近位ヘッド部の長さに沿って、その周囲に分布され、前記スリットパターンは、複数の長手方向に間隔を置いて配置された円周セグメントを含み、各円周セグメントは、複数の円周方向に間隔を置いて配置された放射状スリットを含み、
前記放射状スリットは、前記塞栓マイクロカテーテルの長手軸に対して垂直である、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。 - 前記スリットのそれぞれの長さが0.5mmと1mmとの間である、請求項13に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 円周セグメントの各2つの隣接するスリットが、50ミクロンから250ミクロンの間隔を置いて配置されている、請求項13に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 2つの隣接する円周セグメント間の前記隣接するスリットのそれぞれが、50ミクロンから250ミクロンの間隔を置いて配置される、請求項13に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 2つの隣接する円周セグメントの各2つの隣接するスリットが、前記塞栓マイクロカテーテルの半径方向および長手方向において異なる位置に配置されている、請求項13に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位部が2.5mmから15mmの長さである、請求項13に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔の全ての開口面積が、0.1mm2と7.5mm2との間である、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記懸濁液送達開口部の全ての開口面積が、0.5mm2と1.5mm2との間である、請求項19に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔の総開口面積、前記複数の貫通孔の寸法/形状、前記近位部管腔の寸法/形状、前記遠位部管腔の寸法/形状、前記懸濁液送達開口部の総開口面積、前記懸濁液送達開口部の寸法/形状は、前記懸濁液送達開口部を介した懸濁液流量に対して前記貫通孔を介した懸濁液流量の固定比を維持するように選択される、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記懸濁液送達開口部を介した懸濁液流量に対する、前記貫通孔を介した懸濁液流量の前記固定比が3:1〜1:3の範囲である、請求項21に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記マイクロカテーテルヘッドが単一部品として形成された、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位ヘッド部および前記遠位ヘッド部が、前記マイクロカテーテルヘッドを形成するときに共に組み立てられる別個の要素である、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位ヘッド部が、前記貫通孔によって穿孔された壁を有するポリマーチューブの少なくとも1つの層を含む、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記ポリマーチューブが、任意選択でPTFEからなる内側ポリマーライナーと、任意選択で熱可塑性ポリウレタンまたはポリエーテルブロックアミドなどの熱可塑性エラストマーからなる外側ポリマー押出物とを含み、前記複数の貫通孔のそれぞれが、前記外側ポリマー押出物および前記内側ポリマーライナーの両方を通って延びる、請求項25に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記ポリマーチューブがコイルで補強されている、請求項25に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記複数の貫通孔は、前記コイルの巻線の間に形成されるか、または、前記複数の貫通孔は、前記コイルの巻線と重なり合う、請求項27に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位ヘッド部および/または前記遠位ヘッド部が、任意選択でステンレス鋼、コバルトクロムまたはNi-Ti合金から形成された金属管を含む、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。

- 前記近位および/または前記遠位ヘッド部の前記壁が、前記複数の貫通孔によって穿孔された親水性コーティングを含む、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位ヘッド部および/または前記遠位ヘッド部が、埋め込まれたタングステン、白金またはイリジウムを含む、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
- 前記近位壁は、前記近位ヘッド部の内径が前記懸濁液が流れるときに拡張するが、前記遠位ヘッド部の内径は実質的にそのサイズを維持するように、拡張可能であり、前記拡張された内径が、前記遠位ヘッド部の最大内径よりも実質的に大きく、前記貫通孔を通る前記懸濁液の流量が、前記貫通孔と前記懸濁液送達開口部との間の所望の流量比に達するまで、前記近位ヘッド部の拡張とともに徐々に増加する、請求項1に記載の塞栓マイクロカテーテル。
