Description
本発明は、マイクロカプセル、マイクロカプセルを含む分散液、粉末又は製品、マイクロカプセルを形成するプロセス、及びマイクロカプセルにおける相変化材料(PCM)の使用に関する。
活性物質をカプセル化するためのマイクロカプセル化システムが知られている。カプセル化プロセスは、ポリマーシェルに囲まれた活性物質のコアを含むマイクロカプセルをもたらす。多くの場合、活性物質は疎水性であり、これはシェルを疎水性物質の粒子(例えば、液滴)の周りに重合させ、斯かる粒子は水性媒体及び/又は溶媒中に分散及び/又は乳化される。
本発明は、高い強度及び/又は耐熱性のマイクロカプセルシェルをモノマーブレンドから形成することができ、斯かるモノマーブレンドは50〜99.9wt%の複数のエチレン性二重結合を有するモノマーを含むという、発明者による認識に部分的に基づいている。理論に拘束されることなく、この主要な割合の多エチレン性官能性モノマーは、マイクロカプセルがシェルにより生成されることを可能にし、斯かるシェルは、マイクロカプセルの総重量の8wt%未満を構成し、かつ多種多様な用途に使用されるのに十分な強度を有する。重量でより少ない割合のシェルは、マイクロカプセルの単位重量当たりで、より多くの活性物質がマイクロカプセルのコア中に含まれることを可能にする。このことは、より少量のマイクロカプセルが所定量の活性物質を提供するのに必要とされる点において、有利な影響を与える。加えて、より少量のシェルは、バルク材料の形態での(すなわち非カプセル化)コアの特性と比較して、マイクロカプセル化されたコアの有利な特性により少ない分解を引き起こす可能性がある。

マイクロカプセルを形成するプロセスは、水相及び油相を含み得る。油相は、分散され及び/又は乳化された油相であり得る。水相、油相、及びマイクロカプセルを形成するプロセスで使用される全ての他の成分は、本明細書において「重合系」と称されることになる。
重合によってマイクロカプセルが形成したら、1つ又は複数の任意の重合後ステップが行われてもよい。
ポリマーシェルは、50〜99.9重量%の第1のシェルモノマーを含み、斯かる第1のシェルモノマーは、エチレン性不飽和であり、かつ複数のエチレン性二重結合を有する。

ポリマーシェルはコポリマーを含む。コポリマーは、二元共重合体(bipolymer)、三元共重合体(terpolymer)又は四元共重合体(quaterpolymer)、好ましくは二元共重合体又は三元共重合体、特に二元共重合体であり得る。ポリマーシェルは、最大で5つのモノマー、好ましくは最大で4つのモノマー、特に最大で3つのモノマーを含み得る。ポリマーシェルは、少なくとも2つのモノマーを含み得る。好ましくは、ポリマーシェルは2つのモノマーを含み、より好ましくは、2つのモノマーからなる。

コアは活性物質を含む。活性物質は、香料(fragrances)、UV吸収剤、皮膚軟化油、殺虫剤、相変化材料(PCM)、染料、界面活性剤(detergents)、印刷インク、香料(perfumes)、シリコーンコンディショナー、シャンプー、殺生物剤、接着剤、腐食防止剤、付着防止剤、香味料、化粧品活性剤、酸化剤、パーソナルケア活性物質、医薬品、農薬、肥料、栄養素、酵素、液晶、塗料、防錆剤、記録材料、触媒、化学反応剤、界面活性剤(surfactants)、難燃剤、磁性体、スリップ剤、帯電防止剤、防曇剤(anti-fogging agents)、潤滑剤、スケール防止剤、消泡剤、包接化合物、有機及び無機摩擦調整剤、並びに硬化剤からなる群から選択され得る。活性物質は、反応性モノマー及び/又はポリマー、硬化剤及び架橋剤から選択され得る。
好ましくは、活性物質は相変化材料(PCM)である。好ましくは、コアはPCMを含む。
コアは、造核剤(nucleating agents)、熱安定剤、酸化防止剤、難燃剤、構造化剤、結合剤、無機粒子、例えば金属又はシリカのような金属酸化物、炭素粒子、及びそれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるさらなる成分を含み得る。好ましくは、コアは、造核剤を含む。好ましくは、コアはシリカを含む。コアは、ゲル化剤を含み得る。
国際公開第2005/105291号(参照により本明細書に組み込まれる)で論じられたようにマイクロカプセルのハーフハイト(half height)を測定することによって、マイクロカプセルの試料の温度に対する耐性及び一般的な強度を定量化することが知られている。マイクロカプセルのハーフハイト値(half-height value)は、熱重量分析(TGA)によって測定され得る。ハーフハイトを測定するためのTGA法は、20℃/分の速度でマイクロカプセルの乾燥試料に熱を加え、重量損失を測定することを含み得る。ハーフハイト値は、試料の半分の重量が失われる温度である。ハーフハイトは空気流の下で測定され得る。
粉末は、本発明のマイクロカプセルを含み得る。粉末には液相が存在しなくともよい。粉末は無水であり得る。粉末は、5wt%未満の水、好ましくは2wt%未満、特に1wt%未満、望ましくは0.5wt%未満の水を含み得る。
本発明を以下の非限定的な例によって説明する。
本明細書では、以下の試験方法が使用された:
以下の実施例で使用した材料、及びその役割を表1に同定する。
130.0gの脱イオン水、39.0gの10%濃度水溶液のポリビニルアルコール(88%加水分解、分子量85,000〜124,000)、1.3gの50%水溶液の2−アクリルアミド−2−メチルプロパンスルホン酸Na塩、及び0.1gのXiameter ACP-1400消泡剤を混合することによって、水相を調製した。128.7gのラウリン酸ラウリル(コアの99wt%)、1.3gのSyncrowax HGLC造核剤(コアの1wt%)、2.075gのメタクリル酸(シェルの25wt%)、6.225gのブタンジオールジアクリレート(シェルの75wt%)、及び0.1gのVazo 67を混合することによって、油相を調製した。
実施例1で生成した3つの中和マイクロカプセル試料の乾燥試料のハーフハイトを、本明細書に記載のTGAを用いて測定した。結果を表2に示す。
実施例1で生成した3つの中和マイクロカプセル試料の乾燥試料の結晶化の潜熱を、本明細書に記載のDSCを用いて測定した。結果を表3に示す。
実施例1で生成した3つの中和マイクロカプセル試料の乾燥試料の結晶化点を、本明細書に記載のDSCを用いて測定した。結果を表4に示す。
Claims (12)
- ポリマーシェル内にコアを含むマイクロカプセルであって:
a)前記ポリマーシェルはコポリマーを含み、前記コポリマーは、以下:
i)ポリマーシェルの重量で50〜99.9%の第1のシェルモノマーであって、エチレン性不飽和であり、かつ複数のエチレン性二重結合を有する第1のシェルモノマー、ここで、前記第1のシェルモノマーは、アクリレート、メタクリレート、アクリルアミド、メタクリルアミド、アリル、メタリル及びビニルから選択される少なくとも2つの官能基を含む;
ii)ポリマーシェルの重量で0.01〜50%の第2のシェルモノマーであって、エチレン性不飽和であり、かつ1つのエチレン性二重結合を有する第2のシェルモノマー;並びに
iii)任意により、ポリマーシェルの重量で0〜30%の1つ又は複数の他のシェルモノマー;
から形成され、
b)前記コアは活性物質を含み、ここで、前記活性物質が相変化材料であり;そして
c)前記ポリマーシェルは、マイクロカプセルの総重量の8wt%未満を構成する、
マイクロカプセル。 - 前記第1のシェルモノマーが、アルカンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレートを含む、請求項1に記載のマイクロカプセル。
- 前記第2のシェルモノマーが、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、そのアルキルエステル及びそれらの混合物から選択される、請求項1又は2に記載のマイクロカプセル。
- 前記コアが、最大で40wt%の炭化水素を含む、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセル。
- 前記相変化材料が、脂肪酸、脂肪アルコール及び脂肪アミン、並びにそれらのエステル、アミド又は塩から選択される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセル。
- 前記マイクロカプセルが、マイクロカプセルの総重量で少なくとも80wt%の活性物質を含む、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセル。
- 前記ポリマーシェルが、前記マイクロカプセルの総重量の4wt%〜7.95wt%を構成する、請求項1から6のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセル。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセルと液相とを含む分散液であって、少なくとも20wt%の活性物質を含む、分散液。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセルを含む粉末であって、少なくとも60wt%の活性物質を含む、粉末。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセルを含む製品であって、以下:繊維、衣類、衣服、寝具、発泡体、マットレス、靴、手袋、建築材料、コンクリート、石膏ボード、繊維板、石膏、電子回路、マイクロチップ、バッテリー、放熱板、絶縁体、熱包装、プラスチック、ライト及びLED製品(LED’s)、からなる群から選択される、製品。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセルを形成するプロセスであって、以下のステップ:
a)水相及び分散油相を含む重合系を形成し、ここで、活性物質は油相中に存在し;
b)シェルモノマーを重合させて、ポリマーシェル内に油相のコアを含むマイクロカプセルを形成し;そして
c)任意により、金属水酸化物又はアミンを用いてマイクロカプセルを中和すること、
を含む、プロセス。 - 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロカプセルにおける相変化材料としての、脂肪酸、脂肪アルコール及び脂肪アミン並びにそれらのエステル、アミド又は塩から選択される材料の使用。
