Description
インクを吐出する記録ヘッドによる記録動作を行う記録領域および該記録領域に隣接する待機領域に渡って前記記録ヘッドが移動するように、前記記録ヘッドを搭載して所定方向に移動するキャリッジと、
前記待機領域に配置され、前記記録ヘッドをキャップするキャップと、
前記記録ヘッドをワイピングするワイパと、
前記記録ヘッドをキャップするキャップ位置と、前記キャップ位置より下方であって前記ワイパが前記記録ヘッドをワイピング可能なワイピング位置と、前記キャップ位置および前記ワイピング位置の間に位置する中間位置と、に前記キャップを上下方向に移動させる第1移動機構と、
前記中間位置より前記記録領域の近傍であって前記記録ヘッドから予備吐出されるインクを受ける予備吐出位置と、前記中間位置と、に前記キャップを前記所定方向に移動させる第2移動機構と、を備える、
ことを特徴とする記録装置が提供される。
図1(A)は本発明の一実施形態に係る記録装置1の外観図である。記録装置1は全体として直方体形状を有しており、本体2の上部にスキャナユニット3が開閉自在に設けられ、本体2の前面にはユーザの操作を受け付けるタッチパネル式の表示装置4が設けられている。図1(B)はスキャナユニット3を開放した状態を示しており、記録装置1に着脱自在に内蔵される複数種類のインクタンク5を交換する際の態様を示している。図中、矢印X、Y、Zは、記録装置1の幅方向、奥行方向、高さ方向を示しており、互いに交差する方向(ここでは互いに直交する方向)である。他の図における矢印X、Y、Zも同じである。
メンテナンスユニット50の構成について図3および図4を参照して説明する。図3および図4はメンテナンスユニット50の一部の構成を示す斜視図である。
ユニット駆動機構60は、ワイパ52を駆動するワイパ駆動機構70を含む。図5はワイパ駆動機構70の説明図である。制御部材62はY方向に延びるラック621を有し、ラック621には歯車装置61を構成するピニオン61aが噛み合っている。歯車装置61に入力された駆動力はピニオン61aを介して制御部材62に伝達され、制御部材62をY方向に往復移動させる。
ユニット駆動機構60は、キャップ51を駆動するキャップ駆動機構80を含む。図6はキャップ駆動機構80の説明図である。本実施形態では、キャップ駆動機構80により、キャップ51をX方向およびZ方向に変位可能である。
ロックレバー56によるキャリッジ11の位置決め動作およびチャージレバー58による負圧のチャージ機構について図11(A)〜図11(D)を参照して説明する。これらの図はロックレバー56、チャージレバー58の機構および動作の説明図である。
エアバルブレバー57を含むエアバルブについて図12(A)および図12(B)を参照して説明する。エアバルブレバー57は、キャップ51(開口部51aおよび51c)に接続された各可撓性チューブの閉塞、解放を行う。エアバルブレバー57は、各チューブに一つ設けられる。
図13を参照して記録装置1の制御系の構成について説明する。図13は記録装置1を制御する制御ユニット100のブロック図である。制御ユニット100は記録装置1の各機構部の動作をコントロールする制御回路である。CPU101は記録装置1全体を制御する。コントローラ102は、CPU101を補助して、各種センサ105の検出結果に応じて、各種モータ107や記録ヘッド12の駆動制御を行う。
上記実施形態では、キャップ51がZ方向に降下位置、中立位置、上昇位置の三つの位置に変位される例を説明したが、キャップ51はZ方向に降下位置と、上昇位置の二つの位置に変位される構成であってもよい。この場合、降下位置において位置P1’と位置P2’との間の変位を行い、予備吐出はキャップ51が位置P2’で行い、ワイピングは位置P1’でかつ降下位置にある場合におこなってもよい。
Claims (8)
- インクを吐出する記録ヘッドによる記録動作を行う記録領域および該記録領域に隣接する待機領域に渡って前記記録ヘッドが移動するように、前記記録ヘッドを搭載して所定方向に移動するキャリッジと、
前記待機領域に配置され、前記記録ヘッドをキャップするキャップと、
前記記録ヘッドをワイピングするワイパと、
前記記録ヘッドをキャップするキャップ位置と、前記キャップ位置より下方であって前記ワイパが前記記録ヘッドをワイピング可能なワイピング位置と、前記キャップ位置および前記ワイピング位置の間に位置する中間位置と、に前記キャップを上下方向に移動させる第1移動機構と、
前記中間位置より前記記録領域の近傍であって前記記録ヘッドから予備吐出されるインクを受ける予備吐出位置と、前記中間位置と、に前記キャップを前記所定方向に移動させる第2移動機構と、を備える、
ことを特徴とする記録装置。 - 前記第1移動機構および前記第2移動機構を駆動する駆動手段を備え、
前記第1移動機構は、前記駆動手段からの駆動力により前記キャップを前記上下方向に移動させる第一のカム部を含み、
前記第2移動機構は、前記駆動手段からの駆動力により前記キャップを前記所定方向に移動させる第二のカム部を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の記録装置。 - 前記第一のカム部と前記第二のカム部を有し、前記所定方向および前記上下方向と交差する方向に移動可能なカム部材を備える、
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の記録装置。 - 前記記録ヘッドからインクを吸引する吸引手段と、
前記キャップと前記吸引手段を接続するチューブと、
前記チューブを閉塞する閉塞位置と、前記チューブを開放する開放位置と、の間で変位可能な第一の可動部材と、を備え、
前記カム部材は、前記第一の可動部材を前記閉塞位置と前記開放位置との間で変位させる第三のカム部を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の記録装置。 - 前記キャリッジを前記待機領域の所定の位置にロックするロック位置と、ロックを解除する解除位置と、の間で変位可能な第二の可動部材を更に備え、
前記カム部材は、前記第二の可動部材を前記ロック位置と前記解除位置との間で変位させる第四のカム部を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の記録装置。 - 前記第二の可動部材は、前記解除位置において前記開放位置にある前記第一の可動部材と当接し、前記第一の可動部材が前記閉塞位置に変位することを規制する、
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の記録装置。 - 前記キャップに接続され前記キャップの内部を大気と連通させる大気連通用のチューブを閉塞する閉塞位置と、前記チューブを開放する開放位置との間で変位可能な第三の可動部材を更に備え、
前記カム部材は、前記第三の可動部材を前記閉塞位置と前記開放位置との間で変位させる第五のカム部を含む、
ことを特徴とする請求項3乃至請求項6のいずれか一項に記載の記録装置。 - 前記吸引手段と前記駆動手段とは駆動源が異なる、
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の記録装置。
