Description
本特許出願は、2017年4月6日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/482429号「Brine Resistant Silica Sol」;2017年4月6日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/482470号「Hydrocarbon Treatment Fluid」;及び2017年4月6日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/482461号「Surface Functionalized Colloidal Silica with Enhanced Stability」に対する優先権を主張し、その各々の内容全体は、本明細書によって参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
本発明は、ブライン中で優れた安定性を有する表面処理されたコロイダルシリカゾルに関する。
コロイダルシリカは、テキスタイル用の摩擦剤、熱膨張係数の低下、ヤング率及び引張強さの上昇、伸び%の低下、電気絶縁特性及び電気絶縁破壊電圧に対する抵抗の上昇を含むポリマー材料の改善、より効率的な触媒材料の製造、ならびに他の多くの有用な機能を含む多くの既知の工業用途を有する。コロイダルシリカは、その元の水性形態で使用され得るか、または水の存在に耐えられない用途で使用するために非水性コロイド分散体に変換され得る。

単量体親水性オルガノシラン、単量体親水性及び単量体疎水性オルガノシランの混合物、またはポリシロキサンオリゴマーからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの部分で表面官能化された水性コロイダルシリカ混合物を含むブライン抵抗性水性シリカゾルであって、前記ブライン抵抗性水性コロイダルシリカゾルが、以下の3つのブライン抵抗性試験:APIブライン目視、24時間海水目視及びAPI濁度計のうち少なくとも2つに合格する、前記ブライン抵抗性水性シリカゾル。

前記ポリシロキサンオリゴマーは、(i)少なくとも1つの単量体疎水性オルガノシラン単量体単位;及び(ii)少なくとも1つの単量体親水性オルガノシラン単量体単位を含む、本発明1007のブライン抵抗性水性シリカゾル。

(a)前記ポリシロキサンオリゴマーは、成分A及び成分Bを含み、

[本発明1010]
前記親水性オルガノシラン単量体単位は、約40mN/m〜約50mN/mの範囲の臨界表面張力を示し、前記疎水性オルガノシラン単量体単位は、約15mN/m〜約39.5mN/mの範囲の臨界表面張力を示す、本発明1001のブライン抵抗性シリカゾル。
特許請求された本発明の第1の態様は、単量体親水性オルガノシラン、単量体親水性及び単量体疎水性オルガノシランの混合物、またはポリシロキサンオリゴマーからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの部分で表面官能化された水性コロイダルシリカ混合物を含むブライン抵抗性水性シリカゾルであって、そのブライン抵抗性水性コロイダルシリカゾルが、以下の3つのブライン抵抗性試験:APIブライン目視、24時間海水目視及びAPI濁度計のうち少なくとも2つに合格する、ブライン抵抗性水性シリカゾルである。
1.シリカ以外の無機酸化物の共有結合。
2.小分子、オリゴマー、またはポリマーの有機材料(PEG処理、アミンまたはポリアミン、硫化物など)の非共有結合。
3.オリゴマー及びポリマー種を含む有機分子の共有結合:
a.オルガノシラン/チタネート/ジルコネート/ゲルマネートとの反応。
b.オルガノシラン/チタネート/ジルコネート/ゲルマネートオリゴマーの形成と、それに続くコロイダルシリカ表面とのこれらの反応。
c.シラン化と、それに続くコロイダルシリカ表面から出発するオリゴマー/樹枝状/超分岐/ポリマー種の反応後形成。
d.オリゴマー/樹枝状/超分岐/ポリマーのシラン/ジルコネート/チタネートの形成と、それに続くSiO2表面に対する反応。
いくつかの例では、優れた表面官能化は、オルガノシランの初期のオリゴマー化とそれに続くコロイダルシリカとの反応によって達成され得る。オリゴマーのポリシロキサン材料を製造するためのオルガノシランの予備加水分解及び縮合は、主にコーティング科学において知られている方法である。EP1818693A1のIler、Osterholtz、Plueddemannによる「Anti−Reflective Coatings」を参照されたい。この欧州特許出願は、(i)金属酸化物の表面改変ナノ粒子、(ii)金属酸化物系バインダーを含み、(i)の(ii)に対する金属酸化物の重量比が99:1〜1:1であるコーティング組成物に対する請求項を伴って提出された。
1.比較的単量体疎水性のオルガノシランは、効果的に溶解しかつ水性コロイダルシリカの表面と反応するために水系に十分には溶解しない。
2.比較的単量体疎水性のオルガノシランは、水系に溶解することができるが、コロイダルシリカ表面に対する反応後は、コロイダルシリカは、水系中で安定となるにはあまりにも単量体疎水性となる。
(a)ポリシロキサンオリゴマーは、成分A及び成分Bを含み、

100gの脱イオン水及び3〜4滴の10%塩酸から、pH3の水を、混合しながらかつ校正したpHメーターを使用してpHを監視しながら作製する。混合物のpHが3.0であることが測定されるまで継続する。シランを必要な割合で添加してシランの混合物を形成し、次いでシランの混合物にpH3の水を添加し、100mLのポリプロピレンビーカー内で磁気撹拌器/撹拌棒で混合する。

10部のグリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、5部のビニルトリメトキシシラン、及び1部のpH3の水(蒸留水及び10%のHClから調製され、校正されたpHメーターを使用してpH3とした)から、これらの成分を混合し、混合物を室温で約30分間の期間反応させることによってポリシロキサンオリゴマープレミックスを調製した。Nissan Chemical America Corp.製の59.28gのST−32Cアルカリ性コロイダルシリカを250ガラス容器に加え、さらに27.98gの蒸留水、及び9.85gのエチレングリコール共溶媒(Sigma Aldrich corp.)を加えることによってコロイダルシリカの溶液を表面官能化のために調製する。この混合物を、磁気撹拌棒及び撹拌プレートで磁気撹拌することによって混合しながら50℃とする。
Nissan Chemical America Corp.から入手可能な52.68gのST−O25酸性コロイダルシリカを250ガラス容器に加え、さらに36gの蒸留水、及び8gのエチレングリコール共溶媒(Sigma Aldrich corp.)を加えることによってコロイダルシリカの溶液を表面官能化のために調製する。この混合物を、磁気撹拌棒及び撹拌プレートで磁気撹拌することによって混合しながら50℃とする。
目視観察によるAPIブライン:
8重量%のNaCl(SigmaAldrich)及び2重量%のCaCl2(Sigma Aldrich)を蒸留水に溶解することによって10重量%のAPIブライン溶液を調製する。ブライン抵抗性の試験は、1グラムの実施例のシリカゾルを10グラムのAPIブライン溶液に入れることによって行う。安定性の観察は、10分及び24時間の標準的なブライン曝露期間で実施する。これらの観察はシリカゾルの澄明性及び透明性を含む。これらの観察の結果をこれらの時点で記録する。ブライン曝露に対して安定なシリカゾル溶液は、澄明かつ透明/乳白色のままであるが、不安定な例は、ブライン曝露後に視覚的に曇って不透明になるか、またはゲル化される。
Fritz Pro Aquatics RPM Reef Pro Mix(Fritz Industries,Inc.)を蒸留水に6重量%で溶解することによって人工海水を調製する。ブライン抵抗性の試験は、1グラムの実施例のシリカゾルを10グラムの人工海水に入れることによって行う。安定性の観察は、10分及び24時間の標準的なブライン曝露期間で実施する。これらの観察はシリカゾルの澄明性及び透明性を含む。これらの観察の結果をこれらの時点で記録する。ブライン曝露に対して安定なシリカゾル溶液は、澄明かつ透明/乳白色のままであるが、不安定な例は、ブライン曝露後に視覚的に曇って不透明になるか、またはゲル化される。
参考:US EPA180.1 ネフェロメトリーによる濁度の決定
この試験とUS EPA 101.1試験との違いは、この特許出願で使用された試験において、工程11.2に従わないことである。
工程11.2は次のように記載されている:40単位を超える濁度:試料を、濁度が40単位未満になるまで1体積以上の濁度のない水で希釈する。次いで、希釈された試料の濁度及び希釈係数から元の試料の濁度を計算する。例えば、5体積の濁度のない水を1体積の試料に添加し、希釈された試料が30単位の濁度を示した場合、そのときは元の試料の濁度は180単位である。

(a)前記ポリシロキサンオリゴマーは、成分A及び成分Bを含み、
(b)成分Aは、グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシランであり、成分Bは、メタクリロキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、イソブチルトリメトキシシラン、ビニルトリメトキシシラン、トリメトキシ[2−(7−オキサビシクロ[4.1.0]ヘプト−3−イル)エチルトリメトキシシラン及びヘキサメチルジシロキサンのうちの1つ以上からなる群から選択され;
(c)前記コロイダルシリカ混合物は、シリカ及び水を含み、
