Description
本発明の第1の態様に係る消泡剤は、下記一般式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を含む重合体を含有する。
2−[(パーフルオロプロパノイル)オキシ]エチル基;ならびに、パーフルオロポリエチレンオキサイド基、パーフルオロポリプロピレンオキサイド基、又はパーフルオロポリオキセタン基を有するフルオロポリエーテル基、及びこれらの共重合フルオロポリエーテル基、等を挙げることができる。
本発明の第2の態様に係る潤滑油組成物は、(A)潤滑油基油と、(B)本発明の第1の態様に係る消泡剤(以下において、「櫛形ポリマー消泡剤」ということがある。)を、組成物全量基準でケイ素量として1〜100質量ppmとを含むことを特徴とする。
本発明の潤滑油組成物における潤滑油基油は、特に限定されるものではなく、通常の潤滑油に使用される鉱油系基油や合成系基油を用いることができる。
本発明の第1の態様に係る消泡剤(櫛形ポリマー消泡剤)については既に詳述した。本発明の潤滑油組成物における櫛形ポリマー消泡剤の含有量は、組成物全量基準でケイ素量として1〜100質量ppmである。含有量がSi量として1質量ppm未満であると、消泡剤としての効果が期待できない。また含有量がSi量として100質量ppmより多い場合には、消泡剤の沈降等が発生し消泡剤寿命が低下するので好ましくない。本発明の潤滑油組成物における櫛形ポリマー消泡剤の含有量は、組成物全量基準でケイ素量として好ましくは5質量ppm以上であり、また好ましくは50質量ppm以下である。
本発明の第2の態様に係る潤滑油組成物は、上記(A)潤滑油基油および(B)櫛形ポリマー消泡剤に加えて、(C)無灰分散剤、(D)酸化防止剤、(E)摩擦調整剤、(F)摩耗防止剤または極圧剤、(G)金属系清浄剤、(H)粘度指数向上剤または流動点降下剤、(I)腐食防止剤、(J)防錆剤、(K)金属不活性化剤、(L)抗乳化剤、(M)上記一般式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を含むポリマー以外の消泡剤、及び(N)着色剤から選ばれる1種以上の添加剤をさらに含み得る。なお、本発明の第1の態様に係る消泡剤にこれら(C)〜(N)から選ばれる1種以上の添加剤を加えて添加剤パッケージとしてもよい。
本発明の潤滑油組成物に無灰分散剤を含有させる場合、その含有量は、潤滑油組成物全量基準で、すなわち潤滑油組成物全量を100重量%として、通常0.01重量%以上であり、好ましくは0.1重量%以上である。また、通常20重量%以下であり、好ましくは10重量%以下である。
本発明の潤滑油組成物に酸化防止剤を含有させる場合、その含有量は、潤滑油組成物全量基準で、通常5.0重量%以下であり、好ましくは3.0重量%以下であり、また好ましくは0.1重量%以上であり、より好ましくは0.5重量%以上である。
本発明の潤滑油組成物に摩擦調整剤を含有させる場合、その含有量は、潤滑油組成物全量基準で、通常0.05〜5重量%である。
本発明の潤滑油組成物に摩耗防止剤または極圧剤を含有させる場合には、その含有量は、潤滑油組成物全量基準で、通常0.05〜5重量%である。
本発明の潤滑油組成物に金属系清浄剤を含有させる場合、その含有量は特に制限されない。ただし、自動車変速機用の場合、潤滑油組成物全量基準の金属元素換算量で通常、0.005〜1.0重量%である。また内燃機関用の場合、潤滑油組成物全量基準の金属元素換算量で通常、0.01〜5.0重量%である。また自動車トランスアクスルユニット用の場合、潤滑油組成物全量基準の金属元素換算量で通常、0.001〜0.1重量%である。
流動点降下剤の例としては、ポリメタクリレート系ポリマー等を挙げることができる。本発明の潤滑油組成物に流動点降下剤を含有させる場合、その含有量は、潤滑油組成物全量基準で、通常0.01〜1重量%である。
本発明の潤滑油組成物の粘度は特に限定されるものではない。ただし本発明の櫛型ポリマー消泡剤は、一般には100℃における動粘度が2mm2/s以上、20mm2/s以下の潤滑油組成物中において好ましく用いることができ、100℃における動粘度が2mm2/s以上、10mm2/s以下の、比較的低粘度の潤滑油組成物中において特に効果的である。
本発明の潤滑油組成物は、特に上記作用効果の観点から、消泡性能が要求される潤滑用途に広く用いることができる。例えば内燃機関油、油圧作動油、工業用ギヤ油、タービン油、圧縮機油、変速機油、自動車アクスルユニット油等として好ましく用いることができ、中でも自動車エンジン油、自動車用変速機油、または自動車アクスルユニット油として特に好ましく用いることができる。
本発明の潤滑油組成物の製造方法は特に限定されるものではないが、既知の手法、たとえば、基油および消泡剤を溶解可能な炭化水素系溶剤に消泡剤を溶解させる、又は強力な撹拌により少量の基油に消泡剤を微分散させることにより、希釈液を調製し、基油からなる又は基油と消泡剤以外の1種以上の添加剤とを含む潤滑油に該希釈液を添加する方法等により製造できる。
(分子量および分子量分布測定)
以下の製造例および実施例において、分子量および分子量分布は、カラム(東ソー社製TSKgel Super MultiPore HZ−M;内径4.6mm×15cm)を3本直列に接続したGPC装置(東ソー社製HLC−8220)を用いて、テトラヒドロフランを移動相とし、示差屈折率計(RI)を検出器として、測定温度40℃、流速0.35mL/分、試料濃度1質量%、試料注入量5μLの条件下、標準物質としてポリスチレンを用いて測定した。
以下の手順により、本発明の第1の態様に係る櫛形ポリマー消泡剤Aを製造した。
ポリテトラフルオロエチレン製攪拌翼(真空シール付)、ジムロート冷却器、窒素導入用3方コック、及びサンプル導入口を装着した100ml 4つ口フラスコに、KF2012(メタクリレート変性ポリジメチルシロキサン;信越化学工業(株)製;官能基当量4,600g/mol)30重量部、及びドデシルメルカプタン0.060重量部を投入し、攪拌下に均一混合物とした後、ダイヤフラムポンプを用いて反応系の真空脱気および窒素パージを5回実施した。窒素フロー下に、ラジカル重合開始剤としてMAIB(ジメチル−2,2’−アゾビスイソブチレート;大塚化学(株)製アゾ系開始剤)0.45部をサンプル導入口から投入した後、窒素雰囲気下、重合温度70℃にて8時間撹拌して重合反応を行い、櫛形ポリマー消泡剤Aを得た。GPC分析(標準物質:ポリスチレン)の結果、得られた櫛形ポリマー消泡剤Aの重量平均分子量(Mw)は32,000であり、分散度(Mw/Mn)は1.40であった。
KF2012、ドデシルメルカプタン、及びTDF−OMA(1H,1H,2H,2H−パーフルオロオクチル メタクリレート)の添加量を次の表1の通りに変更した以外は製造例1と同様にして、本発明の第1の態様に係る櫛形ポリマー消泡剤B〜Fを製造した。
表2に示されるように、本発明の第2の態様に係る潤滑油組成物(実施例1〜11)、及び比較用の潤滑油組成物(比較例1〜4)をそれぞれ調製した。表2中、「Si ppm」とは、ケイ素量換算での質量ppmを意味する。なお消泡剤を潤滑油組成物に配合するにあたっては、まず、消泡剤を灯油に加えて十分に撹拌することにより、消泡剤が灯油中に溶解した希釈液(消泡剤濃度:希釈液全量基準でケイ素量として0.3質量%)を調製した。その後、潤滑油組成物に該希釈液を滴下しながら撹拌混合することにより、表2記載の消泡剤濃度を有する潤滑油組成物を調製した。
上記調製した潤滑油組成物のそれぞれについて、図1に示すホモジナイザー試験機により消泡性を評価した。図1に示すホモジナイザー試験機は、ホモジナイザー1、加熱用円筒ヒーター2、温度調節器3、油温測定用熱電対4、ヒーター加熱用電源5、油槽に相当するガラスシリンダー6(目盛月円筒型ガラス容器、内径40mm、深さ300mm、目盛:2mL間隔で0〜250mL)、及び空気吹込み管(空気流入量30mL/分)7を備えている。
ガラスシリンダー6に試料油を150mL入れ、加熱用円筒ヒーター2により試料油の温度を120℃とした。この時点の油面を基準油面8とした。ホモジナイザー1により撹拌を開始し、10分後の油面と基準油面の差を泡立ち量とした。結果を表2中に示している。
上記調製した潤滑油組成物のそれぞれについて、JASO M347(自動変速機油−せん断安定性試験方法)に準拠した方法で、超音波印加による4時間のせん断を経た試料油180mLを得た。せん断を経た試料油のそれぞれについて、上記評価1と同様にして消泡性を評価した。結果を表2中に示している。

- 下記一般式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を含む重合体を含有する消泡剤であって、
前記X 1 が、(メタ)アクリロイル基の重合により得られる繰り返し単位である、消泡剤。 - 前記重合体が、下記一般式(3)で表される繰り返し単位をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の消泡剤。
- 前記X2が、(メタ)アクリロイル基の重合により得られる繰り返し単位である、
請求項2に記載の消泡剤。 - 前記重合体が、前記一般式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を、該重合体中の繰り返し単位の全量を基準として10質量%以上含む、
請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の消泡剤。 - 前記重合体の重量平均分子量が10,000〜1,000,000である、
請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の消泡剤。 - (A)潤滑油基油と、
(B)請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の消泡剤を、組成物全量基準でケイ素量として1〜100質量ppmと
を含む、潤滑油組成物。 - 自動車エンジン用、自動車変速機用、または自動車トランスアクスルユニット用の潤滑油である、
請求項6に記載の潤滑油組成物。
