Description
斯かる構成の蓄電素子にて、セパレータと厚み方向に隣り合った肉薄部では、絶縁層が少なくとも基材層の一部を覆っており、肉薄部の厚みは、電極の中央部よりも薄い。また、肉薄部の先端部は、隣り合うセパレータと離れている。肉薄部の厚みが薄い分、電極の肉薄部は、隣り合うセパレータに当接しにくく、肉薄部の基材層がセパレータを破ってもう一方の電極に当接することが抑制されている。また、基材層がセパレータに当接したとしても、絶縁粒子を含む絶縁層で基材層が覆われている分、基材層がセパレータを破ることが抑制されている。従って、内部短絡を十分に抑制できる。
以下では、図1に示すように、蓋板32の長辺方向をX軸方向とし、蓋板32の短辺方向をY軸方向とし、蓋板32の法線方向をZ軸方向とする。

- 電極としての正極及び負極と、前記正極及び前記負極の間に配置されたセパレータとが積層された状態で巻回されることにより形成された電極体を備え、
少なくともいずれかの電極は、基材層と、該基材層の少なくとも一方の面に沿って配置され絶縁粒子を含む絶縁層と、前記基材層及び前記絶縁層の間に配置された活物質層と、を有し、
前記電極は、前記電極体の巻回軸方向の少なくとも一方の側にて巻回方向に沿って形成され、前記巻回軸方向の中央部よりも厚みが薄い肉薄部を有し、
前記肉薄部は、前記絶縁層が少なくとも前記基材層の一部を覆った状態で、前記セパレータと厚み方向に隣り合い、
