金属,又は金属を含む材質から成り,成型時に成型面が50℃以上となる金型の少なくとも前記成型面に,該金型の表面硬度と同等以上の硬度を有する♯220の大きさ以下の略球状のショットを,噴射圧力0.2MPa以上で噴射して衝突させて衝突部に局部的かつ瞬間的な温度上昇を生じさせる瞬間熱処理を行い,前記成型面の表面組織を微細化すると共に,前記成型面の表面全体に,滑らかな円弧状の窪みを多数形成し,
前記瞬間熱処理が行われた前記金型の表面に対し,♯100の大きさ以下のチタニウム又はチタニウム合金から成る粉体を噴射圧力0.2MPa以上で噴射して,前記成型面の表面に酸化チタンの被膜を形成することを特徴とする(請求項1)。
本発明の表面処理方法は,金型の成型面を少なくとも処理対象とするもので,本発明の表面処理方法は,金型の成型面に対してのみを実行するものとしても良く,成型面を含む金型全体に対し実行するものとしても良い。
以上で説明した金型の少なくとも成型面の表面に対し,以下に説明する本発明の表面処理を施す。
本工程(前処理工程)は,必要に応じて行う工程であり,金型の用途等によっては必ずしも行う必要はなく,本発明における必須の工程ではない。
本工程(瞬間熱処理工程)は,処理対象とする金型の少なくとも成型面(前述した前処理工程が行われる場合には,前処理工程後の金型の成型面)に対し,球状粉体を乾式噴射して,金型表面に無数の円弧状の微小な窪みを形成して離型性の向上が得られる表面形状に加工すると共に,成型面の表面付近の組織を微細化して更なる表面硬度の向上を行う。
前述したように瞬間熱処理を行った後の金型の少なくとも成型面に対しては,更に,チタン又はチタン合金製の粉体(以下,これらを総称して「チタン粉体」という。)を噴射して,金型の成型面の表面に酸化チタンの被膜を形成する。
(1)処理条件
プリン(食品)の成型に使用するステンレス鋼(SUS304)製の金型の成型面を含む全面に,下記の表1に示す条件で瞬間熱処理とチタン粉体の噴射を行った金型(実施例1)と,瞬間熱処理のみを行った金型(比較例1)をそれぞれ作成した。
実施例1の金型(瞬間熱処理+チタン粉体噴射)と,比較例1の金型(瞬間熱処理のみ)をそれぞれ使用して,プリンを連続して製造した。
未処理のプリン用金型(プレス成型後,バフ研磨したもの)は離型性が悪く,5,000時間で交換を必要としていたが,この未処理品との比較では,実施例1の金型のみならず,比較例1の金型も,大幅な寿命の延長が得られていると共に,汚れが付着し難く,かつ,良好な離型性を示すことが確認された。
(1)処理条件
熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマー(TPU)の成型に使用するプリハードン鋼製の金型の成型面に,下記の表3に示す条件で前処理,瞬間熱処理,及びチタン粉体の噴射を行った金型(実施例2)と,前処理及び瞬間熱処理のみを行った金型(比較例2)をそれぞれ作成した。
実施例2の金型(前処理+瞬間熱処理+チタン粉体噴射)と,比較例2の金型(前処理と瞬間熱処理のみ)をそれぞれ使用して,熱可塑性ポリウレタンエラストマーの成型を行った。
前処理と瞬間熱処理を行った比較例2の金型においても,汚れの付着や離型不良は少ないものであったが,前処理と瞬間熱処理に加え,更にチタン粉体の噴射を行った実施例2の金型では,汚れの付着や離型不良が全く生じないものとなっていた。
重量比で40%のガラス繊維を含むポリフェニレンサルファイド(PPS)の成型に使用するプリハードン鋼製の金型の成型面に,下記の表5に示す条件で前処理,瞬間熱処理,及びチタン粉体の噴射を行った金型(実施例3)と,前処理及び瞬間熱処理のみを行った金型(比較例3)をそれぞれ作成した。
実施例3の金型(前処理+瞬間熱処理+チタン粉体噴射)と,比較例3の金型(前処理と瞬間熱処理のみ)をそれぞれ使用して,重量比でガラス繊維を40%含むPPSの成形を行った。
ガラス繊維で強化されたPPS樹脂の成型に使用する金型では,金型の成型面に対して高硬度のガラス繊維が接触することで成型面は傷付き易くなっていると共に,PPSは高温によってポリマー自身やオリゴマー成分が分解する時に硫黄や塩素を含んだ腐食性ガス(酸性ガス)を発生することで,金型の成型面を腐食させ易い。
ゴムの成型に使用するプリハードン鋼製の金型の成型面に,下記の表7に示す条件で前処理,瞬間熱処理,及びチタン粉体の噴射を行った金型(実施例4)と,前処理と瞬間熱処理のみを行った金型(比較例4)をそれぞれ作成した。
実施例4の金型(前処理+瞬間熱処理+チタン粉体噴射)と,比較例4の金型(前処理と瞬間熱処理のみ)をそれぞれ使用して,ゴムの成型を行った。
(1)試験の目的
本願発明の方法で表面処理を行った後の鋼材表面が,光の照射を受けない環境下においても腐食防止効果を発揮することを確認する。
SUS304を溶接(TIG溶接)して引張り残留応力を付与することで,応力腐食割れの生じ易い試験片を作成し,溶接したままの未処理の試験片と,溶接後,本発明の表面処理方法(瞬間熱処理+チタン粉体の噴射)を施した試験片に対し,それぞれJIS H 8502:1999の「7.3キャス試験方法」に従ってキャス試験を行った。
キャス試験後の試験片の状態を図1(未処理)及び図2(実施例)に示す。
図1に示すように,未処理の試験片では表面に赤錆の発生が確認された。
以上で説明した試験例1〜5より,本発明の方法で処理された金型の成型面(試験例5では試験片の表面)に形成された酸化チタンの被膜は,いずれも,光の照射を受けていない状態において試験が行われているにも拘わらず,表面に形成された酸化チタンの被膜が光触媒として機能していることを示す結果が得られた。
Claims (4)
- 金属,又は金属を含む材質から成り,成型時に成型面が50℃以上となる金型の少なくとも前記成型面に,該金型の表面硬度と同等以上の硬度を有する♯220の大きさ以下の略球状のショットを,噴射圧力0.2MPa以上で噴射して衝突させて衝突部に局部的かつ瞬間的な温度上昇を生じさせる瞬間熱処理を行い,前記成型面の表面組織を微細化すると共に,前記成型面の表面全体に,滑らかな円弧状の窪みを多数形成し,
前記瞬間熱処理が行われた前記金型の表面に対し,♯100の大きさ以下のチタニウム又はチタニウム合金から成る粉体を噴射圧力0.2MPa以上で噴射して,前記成型面の表面に酸化チタンの被膜を形成することを特徴とする金型成型面の表面処理方法。 - 前記金型が,樹脂成型用の金型であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の金型成型面の表面処理方法。
- 前記瞬間熱処理前の前記金型の少なくとも前記成型面に,♯220の大きさ以下の炭化物粉体を0.2MPa以上の噴射圧力で噴射して,前記炭化物粉体中の炭素元素を前記金型の表面に拡散させる前処理工程を行うことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の金型成型面の表面処理方法。
- 前記前処理工程で噴射する炭化物粉体が,炭化ケイ素の粉体であることを特徴とする請求項3記載の金型成型面の表面処理方法。
