Description
霧状状態にリフレッシュする第1の液晶材料の第1の電圧は霧状状態にリフレッシュする第2の液晶材料の第2の電圧より高い;透過性状態にリフレッシュする第1の液晶材料の第1の温度は透過性状態にリフレッシュする第2の液晶材料の第2の温度より高い;第1の液晶マイクロカプセルの層は、50〜70℃の加熱温度で透過性状態を示し、0〜100Vの低周波電圧が加えられると、霧状状態を示す;第2の液晶マイクロカプセルは、40〜60℃の加熱温度で透過性状態を示し、0〜90Vの低周波電圧が加えられると、霧状状態を示す;第1の温度と第2の温度との差は5〜20℃に到達でき、第1の電圧と第2の電圧との差は5〜30Vに到達でき、通常、第1の温度は第2の温度より10〜20℃高く、第1の電圧は第2の電圧より10〜30V高い。
図1を参照すると、本発明は、下面が第1の透過性電極13で覆われる上側基板11と、上面が第2の透過性電極14で覆われる下側基板12とを備える、液晶ディスプレイデバイスを提供する。上側基板11および下側基板12の材料は、フレキシブルな曲げることができるプラスチックフィルムまたは極薄ガラス基板から選択され、第1の透過性電極13および第2の透過性電極14の材料は有機導電性材料または無機導電性材料から選択される。第1の透過性電極13および第2の透過性電極14は、電気めっき、スパッタリング、コーティング、スピンコーティングなどによって、それぞれ上側基板11および下側基板12に配置される。スメクチック液晶マイクロカプセルの層は上側基板11と下側基板12との間に封止され、すなわち第1の透過性電極13と第2の透過性電極14との間に分布する。封入された液晶の層は、特定の比で均一に混合される第1の液晶マイクロカプセル15および第2の液晶マイクロカプセル16を含む。それは、図1に示されるスメクチックマイクロカプセル構造の単一の層および封入される液晶の異なる数の層による図16に示されるスメクチックマイクロカプセル構造の多層に分けられてもよい。
図1を参照すると、本発明は、下面が第1の透過性電極13で覆われる上側基板11と、上面が第2の透過性電極14で覆われる下側基板12とを備える液晶ディスプレイデバイスを提供する。上側基板11および下側基板12の材料はフレキシブルな曲げることができるプラスチックフィルムまたは極薄ガラス基板から選択され、第1の透過性電極13および第2の透過性電極14の材料は有機導電性材料または無機導電性材料から選択される。第1の透過性電極13および第2の透過性電極14はそれぞれ、電気めっき、スパッタリング、コーティング、スピンコーティングなどによって上側基板11および下側基板12に配置される。スメクチック液晶マイクロカプセルの層は上側基板11と下側基板12との間に封止され、すなわち第1の透過性電極13と第2の透過性電極14との間に分布する。封入される液晶の層は、特定の比で均一に混合される第1の液晶マイクロカプセル15および第2の液晶マイクロカプセル16を含む。それは、図1に示されるスメクチックマイクロカプセル構造の単一の層および封入される液晶の異なる数の層による図16に示されるスメクチックマイクロカプセル構造の多層に分けられてもよい。
本発明の実施例3の液晶ディスプレイデバイスの構造は図1に示され、液晶ディスプレイデバイスは、下面が第1の透過性電極13で覆われる上側基板11と、上面が第2の透過性電極14で覆われる下側基板12とを含む。上側基板11および下側基板12の材料は、フレキシブルな曲げることのできるプラスチックフィルムまたは極薄ガラス基板から選択され、第1の透過性電極13および第2の透過性電極14の材料は、有機導電性材料または無機導電性材料から選択される。第1の透過性電極13および第2の透過性電極14はそれぞれ、電気めっき、スパッタリング、コーティング、スピンコーティングなどによって上側基板11および下側基板12に配置される。スメクチック液晶マイクロカプセルの層は上側基板11と下側基板12との間に封止され、すなわち、第1の透過性電極13と第2の透過性電極14との間に分布する。封入される液晶の層は、特定の比で均一に混合される第1の液晶マイクロカプセル15および第2の液晶マイクロカプセル16を含む。それは、図1に示される単一の層のスメクチックマイクロカプセル構造および封入される液晶の異なる数の層による図16に示される多層のスメクチックマイクロカプセル構造に分けられてもよい。

Claims (12)
- 上側基板および下側基板であって、封入される液晶の1つまたは複数の層が前記上側基板と前記下側基板との間に挟まれる、上側基板および下側基板と、
前記上側基板および下側基板の面に配置される第1の透過性電極および第2の透過性電極と
を含む液晶ディスプレイデバイスであって、
前記上側基板および下側基板の面の各々は前記液晶の層に隣接し、前記第1の透過性電極および第2の透過性電極はディスプレイ領域を構成するように互いに対向し、
前記封入される液晶の層は、均一に分布した第1の液晶マイクロカプセルおよび第2の液晶マイクロカプセルを含み、前記第1の液晶マイクロカプセルは、スメクチック液晶、導電性材料および第1の染料を含む第1の液晶材料を含み、前記第2の液晶マイクロカプセルは、スメクチック液晶、ネマチック液晶、導電性材料および第2の染料を含む第2の液晶材料を含み、
前記第1の液晶材料が、前記スメクチック液晶に加えられる0.001%〜10%の量の前記導電性材料および0.01%〜10%の量の前記第1の染料を含み、
前記第2の液晶材料が、前記スメクチック液晶に加えられる1%〜20%の量の前記ネマチック液晶および0.01%〜10%の量の前記第2の染料を含む、液晶ディスプレイデバイス。 - 前記第1の染料が1種以上の二色性染料を含み、前記第2の染料が1種以上の二色性染料を含み、前記第1の染料および前記第2の染料の色が異なることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイス。
- 前記導電性材料が、導電性を有する、無機ナノ粒子、カーボンナノチューブ、グラフェン、炭酸ナトリウム、セチルトリエチルアンモニウムブロミド、エチルトリフェニルホスホニウムヨージド、(フェロセニルメチル)トリメチルアンモニウムヨージド、1,2−ジメチル−3−ブチルイミダゾリウムヘキサフルオロホスフェート、テトラエチルアンモニウムp−トルエンスルホネート、フェニルトリエチルアンモニウムヨージド、1−オクチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムヘキサフルオロホスフェート、ビス(テトラ−n−ブチルアンモニウム)ビス(1,3−ジチオール−2−チオン−4,5−ジチオラト)パラジウム(II)、テトラ−n−ブチルホスホニウムビス(1,3−ジチオール−2−チオン−4,5−ジチオラト)ニッケル(III)、ビス(テトラ−n−ブチルアンモニウム)ビス(1,3−ジチオール−2−チオン−4,5−ジチオラト)亜鉛、ビス(テトラ−n−ブチルアンモニウム)テトラシアノジフェノキノジメタン、テトラブチルアンモニウムブロミド、過塩素酸セチルアンモニウム、テトラセチルアンモニウムブロミド、1−ブチル−3−メチルイミダゾリウムテトラクロロフェラート、メチルトリフェニルホスホニウムヨージドまたはテトラフェニルホスホニウムヨージドのいずれか1つまたはいずれかの混合物であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイス。
- 前記封入される液晶の層が、UVグルー、動物性膠、植物性ゴム、微生物性ゴム、ポリビニルアルコールまたはそれらの組み合わせを含むゲル材料をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイス。
- 前記液晶ディスプレイデバイスが、前記下側基板のいずれかの面に配置される反射体をさらに含み、前記反射体の色は、前記第1の染料の色、前記第2の染料の色および前記第1の染料と前記第2の染料の混合物の色と異なることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイス。
- 前記上側基板および前記下側基板の両方が、透明なフレキシブルプラスチックフィルムまたはガラスであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイス。
- 前記上側基板が透明なフレキシブルプラスチックフィルムまたはガラスであり、前記下側基板がフレキシブルな反射材料であり、前記反射材料の色は、前記第1の染料の色、前記第2の染料の色および前記第1の染料と前記第2の染料の混合物の色と異なることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイス。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイスを駆動する方法であって、前記方法は、
第1の電圧、第1の温度、第2の電圧および第2の温度を連続して加える工程であって、前記第1の電圧および前記第2の電圧は、前記第1の透過性電極と前記第2の透過性電極との間に加えられ、前記第1の温度および前記第2の温度は、加熱によって前記ディスプレイ領域の全領域または部分領域に加えられる、工程を含み、
前記第2の電圧は前記第1の電圧よりも低く、前記第2の温度は前記第1の温度よりも低い、方法。 - 第1の色を有するディスプレイ領域が、前記第1の電圧を加え、前記第1の温度を加えず、前記第2の電圧を加え、前記第2の温度を加えることによって設定されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイスを駆動する方法。
- 第2の色を有するディスプレイ領域が、前記第1の電圧を加え、前記第1の温度を加え、前記第2の電圧を加え、前記第2の温度を加えないことによって設定されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイスを駆動する方法。
- 第3の色を有するディスプレイ領域が、前記第1の電圧を加え、前記第1の温度を加えず、前記第2の電圧を加え、前記第2の温度を加えないことによって設定されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイスを駆動する方法。
- 第4の色を有するディスプレイ領域が、前記第1の電圧を加え、前記第1の温度を加え、前記第2の電圧を加え、前記第2の温度を加えることによって設定されることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の液晶ディスプレイデバイスを駆動する方法。
