Description
本出願は、2011年7月7日に出願された米国特許仮出願第61/505,142号の優先権を主張するものであり、その開示内容を本明細書に援用する。
中空のセラミック微小球と、少なくとも第1のポリマー組成物及び第2のポリマー組成物を含む多成分繊維との混合物を提供する工程と、
多成分繊維が非融合性であり、かつ第1のポリマー組成物が、1ヘルツの周波数における測定時に少なくとも80℃の温度において、3×105N/m2未満の弾性率を有する温度まで、混合物を加熱する工程と、を含む。
第1の実施形態では、本開示は、以下:

音響伝達損失
音響伝達損失試験は、試験方法、ASTM E2611−09、「Standard Test Method for Measurement of Normal Incidence Sound Transmission of Acoustical Materials Based on the Transfer Matrix Method」に従って実施した。インピーダンス管キットタイプの「4206−T」はBruel & Kjaer(Norcross,Georgia)から入手した。
多成分繊維及び中空の微小球(複合体)を含む物品の熱伝導率は、熱伝導性測定器(LaserComp Inc.(Saugus,MA)から入手したモデル「F200」)を使用して測定した。平均温度は、10、20、30、40、50又は60℃に設定し、熱流量は、サンプルが設定温度に到達したときに測定した。
垂直燃焼試験は、引火性要件試験(Flammability Requirement test)「FAR 25.853(a)(1)(i)」に説明されている手順に従って実施し、サンプルは60min、垂直燃焼器に曝された。水平燃焼試験は、引火性要件試験FAR 25.856(a)に説明されている手順に従って実施した。
アクリル乳剤は、以下の説明に従って調製した:エチルアクリレート/n−ブチルアクリレート/アクリル酸(66/26/8)ターポリマーを乳化重合によって作製した。様々な速度撹拌、窒素注入口及び排気口、及び水冷却凝縮器を備える2Lの反応槽に、600gの蒸留水、4.8gの「RHODACAL DS−10」ドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウム、及び4.8gの「T−DET N−10.5」ノニルフェノールポリエチレンオキシドを添加した。固形物が溶解するまで組成物を混合した。264gのエチルアクリレート、104gのn−ブチルアクリレート、及び32gのアクリル酸を含む混合物を、反応容器に添加し、撹拌速度を350rpmに設定した。窒素パージを開始し、槽を32℃まで加熱した。32℃の温度で、0.30gの過硫酸カリウム及び0.08gの二亜硫酸ナトリウムを槽に添加した。発熱反応が開始した。温度が頂点に達した後、溶液を室温まで冷却させた。
多成分繊維及び中空の微小球の複合体を含む物品を以下のように調製した。
微小球繊維混合物が、20gの「3M GLASS BUBBLES K15」微小球、5gの多成分繊維、2gの「Z−6137」、300gの水で構成されていることを除き、微小球繊維複合体は実施例1で記載の通り調製した。微小球繊維複合体の重量充填率及び体積充填率を以下の表4に示す。
微小球繊維混合物が、20gの「3M GLASS BUBBLES K15」微小球、5gの多成分繊維、10gのアクリル乳剤、300gの水で構成されていることを除き、微小球繊維複合体は実施例1で記載の通り調製した。微小球繊維複合体の重量充填率及び体積充填率を以下の表5に示す。
微小球繊維混合物が、2.9gの「3M GLASS BUBBLES K15」微小球、0.73gの多成分繊維、0.58gのアクリル乳剤、43.50gの水で構成されていることを除き、微小球繊維複合体は実施例1で記載の通り調製した。微小球繊維複合体の重量充填率及び体積充填率を以下の表7に示す。
微小球繊維複合体に隣接して、厚さ0.0625in(0.16cm)の多成分繊維の層を配置したことを除き、微小球繊維複合体を実施例4に記載の通り調製した。層は、約200g/m2のウェブ密度を有するウェブを作製する、エアレイ繊維によって調製した。ウェブを、120℃に設定された、長さ5.5mの乾燥オーブンを通じて熱結合させた。コンベヤーベルトを備える乾燥オーブンは、1m/minの速度に設定された。ウェブの最終厚さを0.0625in(0.16cm)に設定するために乾燥オーブンの終端部において、プレスローラーを使用した。複合体を予熱したオーブン内で275°F(135℃)まで30min加熱した。
微小球繊維混合物が、2.9gの「3M GLASS BUBBLES K15」微小球、1.45gの多成分繊維、0.07gのアクリル乳剤、43.50gの水で構成されていることを除き、微小球繊維複合体は実施例1で記載の通り調製した。微小球繊維複合体の重量充填率及び体積充填率を以下の表8に示す。
以下の材料をブレンダーに添加した:実施例1に記載の通り調製した5gの多成分繊維、15gの「3M GLASS BUBBLES K1」微小球、50gの「ISOFRAX」セラミック繊維、1.5gの「AIRFLEX 600BP」ポリマー分散液、0.1gの「FOAMMASTER 111」消泡剤、0.15gの「MP 9307C」凝集剤、及び3000gの水道水。ブレンダーを低速で動作させながら、微小球繊維混合物を5min混合した。微小珠繊維スラリーを、底部に200メッシュスクリーン及び底部弁を備えた、8in×8in(20.3cm×20.3cm)の箱型で、深さ3in(7.6cm)の手動のシートペーパー作製機に注いだ。底部弁を開放してペーパー作製機から水を排出した。得られた微小球繊維複合体をオーブンで149℃、60min乾燥させた。熱伝導率を上記の通り測定した。結果を以下の表10に記す。
Claims (9)
- 外側表面を有し、かつ少なくとも第1のポリマー組成物及び第2のポリマー組成物を含む多成分繊維であって、前記多成分繊維の前記外側表面の少なくとも一部分は、前記第1のポリマー組成物を含み、前記多成分繊維は、融合しておらず、構造を有意に失うことなく接合点において一緒に付着されている、多成分繊維と、
前記多成分繊維の少なくとも一部の前記外側表面上で少なくとも前記第1のポリマー組成物に付着される、中空のセラミック微小球と、を含む、物品。 - 前記物品が、連続ポリマーマトリックスを含まない、請求項1に記載の物品。
- 前記中空のセラミック微小球が、前記多成分繊維の前記外側表面に対して、前記第1のポリマー組成物に直接付着される、請求項1又は2に記載の物品。
- 前記中空のセラミック微小球が、前記物品の総体積に基づいて、少なくとも50体積%のレベルで存在する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の物品。
- 前記中空のセラミック微小球が、ガラスマイクロバブル又はパーライトの微小球である、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の物品。
- 0.5g/cm3までの密度を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の物品。
- 前記多成分繊維には含まれない、5体積%までのポリマーを更に含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の物品。
- 他の異なる繊維を更に含み、又はセルロース繊維、ガラス繊維もしくはセラミック繊維をさらに含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の物品。
- 断熱、防音、又は電気絶縁のうちの少なくとも1つのための、請求項1〜8に記載の物品の使用。
