グルコース(D−グルコース)(固形分:91重量%)370kg、グルタミン(固形分:98重量%)70kg、硫酸アンモニウム(固形分:98重量%)2.5kg、フェノール−ホルムアルデヒド縮合生成物(KCC HN7310A 固形分:40重量%、フェノール/ホルムアルデヒドのモル比=1/3.4)110kg、防塵油(Govi−Garo217S)3kg、シリコーン撥水剤(シリコーン系撥水剤)(KCC−SI1460Z)2kg、及び純水4870kgを混合容器に投入し、撹拌機で30分間撹拌して、アンモニア水を用いてpH8〜9に調整し、更に10分間容器を撹拌して、バインダー組成物を得た。得られたバインダー組成物の固形分は9重量%であった。

フェノール−ホルムアルデヒド縮合生成物(KCC HN7310A)404kg、蒸留水3800kg、撥水剤(SI1460Z−KCC)2kg、及び防塵油(Garo217S)3kgを混合容器に投入し、撹拌機で30分間撹拌して、バインダー組成物を得た。得られたバインダー組成物の固形分は、9重量%であった。
グルコース(D−グルコース)(固形分:91重量%)158kg、クエン酸(固形分:98重量%)44kg、アンモニア水(25%)50kg、蒸留水3750kg、撥水剤(SI1460Z−KCC)2kg、及び防塵油(Garo217S)3kgを混合容器に投入し、撹拌機で30分間撹拌して、バインダー組成物を得た。得られたバインダー組成物の固形分は約4.5重量%であった。

高温の溶融したガラスを2100kg/時間の速度で紡績機に通して繊維化し、集綿器(collecting vessel)に達したガラス繊維に、上記実施例1、2及び比較例1〜3で得られたそれぞれのバインダーを47L/分の割合で噴霧した。その後、乾燥工程を経てガラス綿のインシュレーターを得た。比較例3のバインダーの場合、水酸化カルシウムが沈殿したため、噴霧前にバインダー溶液を150メッシュのステンレスフィルターでろ過しており、残りの工程は他の例と同様に行った。
100mm(横)×100mm(縦)×50mm(厚さ)のガラス綿試料を準備して、標準48時間の耐水性試験を行った。ビーカー内の純水に試料を浮かして、完全に沈むまでにかかる時間を測定した。耐水性等級は0に近いほど不良であり、5に近いほど優れていることを示す。実施例1、2と比較例1、2の場合、試料は72時間以上浮いていたが、比較例3の場合、24時間未満の間に沈んだ。試験結果を表1に示す。
100mm(横)×100mm(縦)×50mm(厚さ)のガラス綿試料を準備して、標準72時間の浸水性試験を行った。純水を満たした2Lビーカー内に試料を完全に浸水させて、色の変化を測定した。濃度に応じた色の変化を客観的に数値化した。浸水性等級は0に近いほど不良であり、5に近いほど優れていることを示す。実施例1、2の場合、各試料は72時間以上の間、色の変化をほとんど示さなかったが、比較例3の場合、数時間以内に顕著に色の変化を示した。試験結果を表1に示す。
小型チャンバー法により、試料を小型チャンバーに入れて、7日後にチャンバー内の空気を集めた。集めた空気をHPLC(高速液体クロマトグラフィー)で分析した。より具体的な方法は、韓国空気清浄協会で規定された方法に従って、7日目にその結果を分析した。試験結果を表1に示す。
測定試料の3個全てを4cmのサイズに調製した。引張棒を試料の長さより短く設置し、試料をロッドに垂直にしながら、試料を引張棒に垂直に固定した。引張強度の試験機の速度を15mm/分とし、ロッド表示内でスケールをゼロに設定した。次いで、その試験機を作動させた。試験機が自動的に止まった後に表示された最大荷重を測定し、平均値を算出した。試験結果を表1に示す。
幅1.5cm、長さ10cmの測定試料を各4個ずつ準備した。測定前の試料を計量した後、試料を粉塵率測定器にセットして、1m/分の速度で縦横に揺らした。合計測定時間は試料当たり10分とし、試験機が自動的に止まった後に、試料を計量した。粉塵率は、粉塵率=[(測定後の重さ/測定前の重さ)−1]×100の計算式で算出して、%で示した。実施例1、2のバインダーをそれぞれ用いて作製されたガラス綿試料の試験では、比較例のバインダーを用いた場合より粉塵が少ないことが分かった。試験結果を表1に示す。
10m(横)×1m(縦)×0.05m(厚さ)のガラス綿試料を準備し、これをロール状にして、室温で8週間保持した。8週間後に巻かれていない状態にした後、試料の厚さの変化を測定した。試験結果を表1に示す。
かび抵抗性はASTM G21−09試験法によって測定し、試料のかび成長率を1月間の観察の後に測定した。その結果を表1に示す。
各実施例及び比較例のバインダーに用いる工程水の試料は、設備洗浄水を用いて各水性バインダーを希釈し、固形分を2〜3重量%に調節することにより調製した。工程水の試料の防腐力を調べるために、混合細菌に対するチャレンジ試験を行った。
Claims (11)
- a)一つ以上の還元糖、
b)一つ以上のアミノ酸、及び
c)アミド系化合物又はフェノール系化合物とホルムアルデヒドとの化学結合により形成される一つ以上の縮合生成物を含み、
前記縮合生成物は、前記還元糖と前記アミノ酸の合計100重量部に対して、5〜50重量部の含量で含まれる水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。 - 前記還元糖は、ブドウ糖、マルトース、フルクトース、ラクトース、セロビオース、ゲンチオビオース、ルチノース及びこれらの組み合わせよりなる群から選ばれるものである請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。
- 前記アミノ酸は、グリシン、アラニン、バリン、ロイシン、イソロイシン、トレオニン、セリン、システイン、メチオニン、アスパラギン酸、アスパラギン、グルタミン酸、ジヨードチロシン、リシン、アルギニン、ヒスチジン、フェニルアラニン、チロシン、トリプトファン、プロリン、オキシプロリン、グルタミン及びこれらの組み合わせよりなる群から選ばれるものである請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。
- 前記アミノ酸のアミノ基の一部又は全部は、酸で中和されている請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。
- 前記アミド系化合物は、アミド基(−(X=C)−N(R)2、式中、XはO、N又は
Sであり、Rは独立して水素又は非水素有機基である)を有するものである請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。 - 前記フェノール系化合物は、ヒドロキシ基(−OH基)を一つ以上有するフェニル化合物を含む請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。
- 前記アミド系化合物又はフェノール系化合物は前記ホルムアルデヒドと化学結合しており、前記アミド系化合物又はフェノール系化合物と前記ホルムアルデヒドとのモル比が1:1〜1:5である前記縮合生成物を形成するものである請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。
- 室温及び常圧条件で、沸点が300℃以上である酸性化合物を更に含む請求項1に記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物。
- 請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物を繊維状材料に噴霧する工程、及び
繊維状材料に噴霧された前記バインダー組成物を熱硬化する工程を含む繊維状材料をバインディングする方法。 - 請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の水性熱硬化性バインダー組成物を含む繊維状材料。
- ホルムアルデヒドの放出量が0〜0.005mg/m3・時間である請求項10に記載
の繊維状材料。
