Description
この出願は、2010年5月20日に出願された米国特許出願第12/784,393号についての優先権およびその利益を主張する。なお、その開示の全体がこの参照によって、本願明細書に組み込まれるものとする。
(a) 外側の織物表面を有した全般的に管状の本体、および(b) 本体のキンクおよび圧壊に対する抵抗性のうち少なくとも一つを高めるように構成された、本体の外側織物表面に取り付けられる支持構造、を備える。支持構造は、第1の構成要素および第2の構成要素を有している。第2の構成要素は(i) ポリマー材料を含み、(ii) 第1の構成要素および本体より溶融温度が低く、(iii) 第1の構成要素を本体に接続する。
内側層14は、ePTFE、ポリウレタン、アクリレート、シリコーン、コポリマーおよびそれらの組み合わせのような生体適合性ポリマーといった、生体適合性の材料から製造できる。一つの実施形態において、内側層14は、ePTFE、ポリウレタン、シリコーンおよびアクリレートのうちの少なくとも一つから製造される。
図2〜図4を参照すると、人工器官10は、圧壊および/またはキンクに対する抵抗力を高めるために支持構造22が巻き付けられている。支持構造22は、人工器官10の全長に沿って、若しくは実際に選択された部分、例えば追加の支持を必要とする部分に沿って延びることができる。支持構造22は、人工器官の層とは別個に、例えば鋳造若しくは押し出しによって、製造できる。
本発明の人工器官10について説明してきたが、ここで本発明の人工器官10を製造する方法について説明する。
Claims (12)
- (a)外側の織物表面を備える全体的に管状の本体と、および、
(b)前記本体の外側の織物表面に取り付けられ、且つ前記本体のキンクおよび圧壊に対する抵抗力のうちの少なくとも1つを高めるように構成された、支持構造と、
を備える、移植可能な人工器官であって、
前記支持構造はポリプロピレン製の第1の構成要素と、第2の構成要素と、を備え、前記第1の構成要素は130℃〜170℃の融点を有し、
前記第2の構成要素は、ポリエチレン製のポリマー材料を備え、前記第2の構成要素は前記第1の構成要素及び前記本体の融点よりも低い融点である60℃〜105℃の融点を有し、
前記外側の織物表面は、それらの間に隙間又は細孔を有するフィラメント又は糸を備える外側の織物層の外側表面であり、前記第2の構成要素は、前記隙間又は細孔の内部に延在し、それによって、前記支持構造の第1の構成要素を前記外側の織物層へ機械的に接続させ、且つ
前記第1の構成要素及び前記第2の構成要素の一部は、前記管状本体の外側の織物表面を実質的に傷つけることなく、引張により前記外側の織物表面に対し取り外し可能であり、
前記人工器官から前記第1の構成要素を取り外す際、前記第2の構成要素の一部は前記第1の構成要素と共に取り外され、前記第2の構成要素と前記人工器官の外側の織物層との接合は、前記外側の織物層に無傷のまま残り、前記外側の織物層の健全性を保持するように構成される、
人工器官。 - 前記移植可能な人工器官の本体は、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(ePTFE)を含有する生体適合性ポリマー製の内側層を備える、請求項1に記載の移植可能な人工器官。
- 前記外側の織物層は、前記フィラメント又は糸の編物、織物又は組み紐のパターンを備え、且つ
前記支持構造の前記第1の構成要素は、前記第1の構成要素の除去が前記編物又は織物のパターンを実質的に損傷させないように、前記外側の織物層に取り外し可能に接続されている、請求項1〜2のいずれか1項に記載の移植可能な人工器官。 - 生体適合性エラストマー接着剤は、前記外側の織物層の内表面に対して、内層の外表面を接着させる、ポリカーボネートウレタンを含有する、請求項1又は請求項3に記載の移植可能な人工器官。
- 10グラム〜300グラムの引張力に抵抗するように第1の構成要素を物理的に保持するため、前記第1の構成要素の周囲に前記第2の構成要素が配置される、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の移植可能な人工器官。
- 前記人工器官が患者の身体の内部に配置される際に、前記外側の織物表面と前記支持構造を固定するように、前記支持構造と前記管状本体との間の接合が十分に強く、但し、前記人工器官を支持された長さにカスタマイズするため、所定の引張力をかけて引くと、前記支持構造の一部が前記外側の織物表面から取り外されることを特徴とする、請求項3又は4のいずれか1項に記載の移植可能な人工器官。
- 前記支持構造は、半円形の断面又は三日月形の断面を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の移植可能な人工器官。
- 前記支持構造が前記本体の周りに螺旋状に巻き付けられるように適用される、請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の移植可能な人工器官。
- 請求項1に記載の移植可能な人工器官の製造方法であって、前記製造方法は、
(a)前記人工器官の前記管状の本体の前記外側の織物表面に対し前記支持構造を適用する工程であって、前記適用により、前記支持構造と前記管状の本体との間の接合が、前記外側の織物表面に対し前記支持構造を固定し、且つ所定の引張力に耐えるように、十分に強くつくられ、それにより、前記接合が、前記人工器官の支持される長さにカスタマイズするため、前記外側の織物表面の全長に沿って引きはがすことが可能となるように、前記外側の織物表面に対して前記支持構造の一部が除去される、工程であって、前記工程は、前記第2の構成要素を溶融させる工程を含み、前記溶融により、前記第2の構成要素が前記本体に前記第1の構成要素を接合させ、10グラム〜300グラムの引張力に抵抗するように第1の構成要素を物理的に保持し、前記第2の構成要素は60℃〜105℃の温度で溶融させる、工程と、

前記本体を形成する予備的な工程を更に含む、請求項9に記載の製造方法。 - 前記第2の構成要素を溶融させることにより、前記第2の構成要素が前記本体に延在するようにする、工程を更に含む、請求項9〜10のいずれか1項に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第2の構成要素の溶融の間に、前記第1の構成要素が溶融することがない、請求項9〜11のいずれか1項に記載の製造方法。
